Chychrun vs Demko; Defense vs Goaltender - Where Should KA invest?
Marvin replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
Not I. The price is way too high. There is a reason no one has been seriously negotiating with Arizona for over a year. -
You are welcome. With game 1, you can find both the NBC and CBC broadcasts.

Sounds Like SportsNetโs Jeff Marek is a Sabres Fan

Poor guy. Doomed like the rest of us. ๐ -
You should see the games from the 1975 semi-final which are online. ( I found games 1, 2, and 6 on YouTube.) In the final moments of the videos, the HNIC announcers marvel at how great a captain he became at 23. For those who are much younger than we are, this is part of the reason why some of us are so nostalgic for the Gil Perreault era teams.

Not according to Minnesota fans on HFBoards.

Chychrun vs Demko; Defense vs Goaltender - Where Should KA invest?

Neither player, particularly at the prices they will command, but the positions targetted are correct. -
What is unexpected was that Peterka-Cozens-Quinn would look like a good second line this early. I came into the season just hoping they would be OK and not get caved in regularly. Instead, three guys who are younger than any 1st line in the NCAA are going toe-to-toe with top lines in the NHL. Who plans for that? Having said that, I hope there is a fair hockey trade for a #3 LHD in the new year.

I think GMKA wanted to see what our bottom 4 D could do and see if any develop. As of now, only Clague has shown promise, but having 2 of them on the bottom pair has been a disaster. That's why none of them should be more than #7 on the depth chart for a playoff team.

You forgot that you included Comrie in this package. Comrie, Rosen, 1st, and 3rd is too much for a G, an impending UFA, and a 2nd. Getting Schenn alone makes more sense to me. But other teams will offer late 1sts while GMKA should not move ours.

Huh? He was one of the most respected defencive defencemen around the league when Bowman traded him. When he retired, the only retired defencemen with better career adjusted +/- were Brad Park and Bobby Orr. Oh, and it was allegedly his wife who asked him to stop initiating fights.

I remember the hockey community deriding that contract as overpayment and wishful thinking. Wow, were they wrong.

I know that part of my frustration is that we are only seeing minor growing pains from Power, Peterka, and Quinn plus accelerated development of Cozens, so the team feels about a year ahead of schedule, whence I think that GMKA should re-orient his mindset to that reality and shoot for the playoffs. One adjustment would be to accept that the defence needs to catch up to the forwards. Thus, GMKA ought to shelve the plan of trying to see which of Bryson, Fitzgerald, Pilut, or Clague might become NHLers and get actual current 3rd pair NHL defencemen for the #3 LHD and #7 D. But he apparently can't or won't. I lean towards the latter for failing to make claims on Reilly or Bear. And that irks me.

Welcome to the board! I used HFBoards' NHL page, Spector's Hockey, and thehockeynews.com.

I am not saying that Cribbs wasn't better -- he was. But the highlight videos have more of Roland Hooks and Robb Riddick in them. Maybe Ralph et al. were still miffed at him jumping to the USFL when those videos were made.
-
In Bills History, I would say Roland Hooks and Robb Riddick are better known from that era.

And as he was escorted to the dressing room, he apparently yelled at Phil Esposito, "you're next, you ****ing @$$#0|โฌ".

You forgot nope, nuh-uh, nah, and seriously?

He turned down an $8M AAV extension. That might be too rich for my blood -- he looks like he is having contract-year-itis with a shooting percentage of 21.5, which is 35% above last year's.

As always, I will believe these additions when I see them. This smacks of "too good to be true."
