I just read that Leaf fans think buying out TJ Brodie is one way out of their Cap Hell. I would be willing to sign him.

OT: Employment Interviews in the post covid 2020's
Marvin replied to Scottysabres's topic in The Aud Club
When I was younger, all I ever wanted to be was a research professor in mathematics, so I have friends who are things like department chairs. Also, both my parents were college professors and all of my siblings except my youngest brother taught in school somewhere. Uniformly, the professors and teachers I know complain about the flood of administrators who have entered education. The best example of this is in the Williamsville School District. When I was young, all of the administration fit into an office space the size of a family drug store. Now, it takes up an old middle school building that had 700 kids. -

There seems to be an uptick in software QA needs. The doubling time for the number of developers is 5 years, so, if the companies have any brains, the need for software QA should go up commensurately. -
OT: Employment Interviews in the post covid 2020's

For years, I have been recommending to people's kids that if they are not going into STEM or something with a nearly guaranteed way of paying off their student loans, then they should take up a trade. Things like plumbing, electricity, heating, and housing are not going away any time soon. -
I did not like the Peter McNab trade and hated the big trade with Detroit with Gare, Schoenfeld, Smith, and Sauve for Foligno, Peterson, and McCourt.

I remember being shocked that Darcy got Stu Barnes for Matthew Barnaby. I remember liking the LaFontaine, Hawerchuk, and Warrener-Miller trades.

The summer doldrums of hockey. The I met a player thread.

My first time meeting a Sabre was in the 1973-4 season when Jim Schoenfeld had an autograph signing after breaking his leg. My youngest sisters went to elementary school with numerous kids of the Sabres and Bills and met many more of them than I have. -
Who was the longest serving captain? Perreault?

A vast majority of my discomfiture is the goaltending. I can accept that Levi can replace Anderson, but that leaves questions: 1. How much more can he play? 2. What happens once teams get some video on him? 3. For games without Levi, we have UPL and Comrie -- can either or both of them improve enough to improve the team's performance? That is for the most important position on the ice. I am very trepidatious about next season.

The second one is Tom Barrasso. I believe the third one is Darren Puppa and Clint Malarchuk.

I thought Armia got more than one game. I guess I was wrong.

That's what was done with Krebs. Olofsson would need to learn defence. Of course, my idea might be hair-brained.
-
Ugh. Don't remind me.
-
The idea is to give him PP minutes but have his weaknesses compensated by the old sages on the team. His goal scoring will go down, but it might be less of a net negative.
-
Given Olofsson's weaknesses, might it be best to play him with Girgensons and Okposo when he is in the line-up?
-
I did for a while. I can't remember my username.
-
Ominous thought: is the plan to start the season with 12F, 8D, and 3G?
-
Welcome back!

He is not a PP specialist, but he has been bad at even strength 2 years running. I imagine that there is no market for him. I do not know what should be done with him in the event that he is not traded.

Buffalo sabres Coaching staff Received Contract extensions.?
Marvin replied to Buffalonill's topic in The Aud Club
No. The one he posted did not reshuffle the schedule due to snow. -
I was afraid that they had too many games in hand. I thought the schedule was too dense for adequate rest. But that is just me. Having said that, said tailspin due to the injuries came at a really bad time. Does being more aggressive on trading for defence help that team? Maybe, but it is too late now.
