  1. If they kick KA upstairs, would a consortium of people from this board whom we all agreed upon be acceptable?
  2. The only Murder, She Wrote I ever watched was the Magnum, p.i. cross-over.
  3. I love you, PA.
  4. You remind me of one of goals Batman scored in Buffalo. One of them he spun around and hit the puck into the net off the back of his skate and fell over.
  5. I remember when we got Batman. I remember my younger sister being in 1st grade with his son. Bloody hell, am I old.
  6. Cozens! Life! Anyone else want to step up?
  7. Just saw a tweet with the passing adventures of Victor Olofsson. Why are we seeing these things?
  8. The Hockey Statistics page is for your reference. If you want to add, please do. The examples of different adjustments to +/- are in the thread https://www.sabrespace.com/community/topic/27067-adjusted-plus-minus-originals/?tab=comments#comment-1183230 The comments that the stats are incomplete are 100% accurate. That's why I like integrating different stats into my analysis of players.
  9. Like Gil Perreault with Keith Magnuson.
  10. I need to not post in the GDT during the pre-game. Every single one during bad stretches over the last 8 years has progressively made me angrier about the tank.
  11. We ARE improved on paper. That's why RK gets the bulk of my ire. There are two clearly NHL-quality top-2 lines with Skinner-Eichel-Reinhart and Hall-Staal-Cozens/Olofsson. There has to be a functional bottom 6 with Cozens/Olofsson, Mittlestadt, Asplund, Lazar, Okposo, Sheahan, Eakin, Reider, and Thompson. We had the makings of a solid defence before the injuries: McCabe-Ristolainen, Dahlin-Borgen, Bryson-Jokiharu, Montour-Miller, and Irwin-Davidson. Yes, goaltending is not what we would like it to be, but as LGR4GM pointed out, the Sabres are statistically neutral in goal. The problem is that this line-up can't score at even strength. The defence had no chemistry to start with, which led to numerous times where the Sabres should have been able to rush out of the D-zone, but could not. But that top-6 should not have horrendous goalless droughts between them. Skinner-Eichel-Reinhart could score for most of the season when the third best line was Sheary-Rodrigues-Pominville. IMHO, with all but Sam Reinhart having comparatively down offencive years, that implies that the coaches' offencive system is the culprit.
  12. The return won't be that high. It will be lots of picks, project prospects, and a cap dump or two. People will pay a lot, but they know they have us over a barrel. We will have to take some crap back. Think the O'Reilly trade with less garbage coming our way. The only hope I have is a good second half of the season which, for some reason, gives hope to Eichel et al. to stay. And the only way I see that is with a coaching change. I hate this. I hated the tank. I hated the GM undermining the coach and players in order to tank. I hated the overpayment trades. I hated the later returns for the assets from the overpayment trades. I hated the rosters the GMs created. I hated the misuse of talent by the coaches. I am a believer in depth, ensemble play, good centres, good defence, and solid goaltending, and overall grit. We have yet to have all of them since 2010-1.
  13. IMHO, there is enough talent on the roster to make the playoffs. The long layoff and the two week layoff really hurt. But they should be far better than this. There is a part of me that wonders how the veterans feel about Skinner being benched and not tried in other situations to get him going. Surely today was a prime chance to get him, Hall, and Staal going all at once.
  14. Why didn't GMJB hire Lindy, or Gerard, or...
  15. It is better that you don't. For the record, the Sabres' record for most shots against in one game is 72 by the Boston Bruins on 10 December 1970 at the Boston Garden.
  16. It was whatever the country club was which closed at Sheridan and North Forest in Willamsville.
  17. We gotta do something. Until someone steps up, the Sabres should claim every goalie who hits the waiver wire.
  18. These guys are bad. Scary bad.
  19. Hmm. Larsson's and Okposo's performance this year may be a testimony to line chemistry. None of the LOG line are all that good, but put them together and you get a checking line that is a joy to watch drive the opposition nuts. We could use Kahun instead of Reider.
  20. Points of fact for the last 3 seasons: Eric Staal: 81 GP, 22 G, 30 A, 52 Pts; 66 GP; 19 G, 28 A, 47 Pts; 17 GP, 3 G, 5 A, 8 Pts. Taylor Hall: 33GP, 11 G, 26 A, 37 Pts; 65 GP, 16 G, 36 A, 52 Pts; 17 GP. 1 G, 11 A, 12 Pts Jeff Skinner: 82 GP, 40 G, 23 A, 63 Pts; 59 GP, 14 G, 9 A, 23 Pts; 14 GP, 0 G, 1 A, 1 Pt Sam Reinhart: 82 GP, 22 G, 43 A, 65 Pts; 69 GP, 22 G, 28 A, 50 Pts; 15 GP, 7 G, 7 A, 14 Pts Jack Eichel: 77 GP, 28 G, 54 A, 82 Pts; 68 GP, 36 G, 42 A, 78 Pts; 16 GP, 2 G, 12 A, 14 Pts Although there is not a statistically significant number of games yet this season, we do see a gain in points from Reinhart, small drops from Eichel, Hall, and Staal, and a fall off a cliff for Skinner. Make of these numbers what you will. Some advanced stats over the last 3 seasons would be interesting.
  21. They have a better GM who is better at amassing talent, is more flexible in his mindset, and pro-active in making needed changes.
  22. Win-win for RK would be Skinner for a goaltender.
