Not many. We live in NYS. We vote like we want these jobs to move out of state.

They can take out the prospect in that trade.

Official Jason Karmanos Hired as Sabres Associate GM

Unfortunately, a lot of people on that industry think it's, "Be first and hope you are right and if not, who cares?" -
What do we get for Hall? When does he get traded?

2nd and a B-prospect, tops. Do not take a cap dump. Do not resign. If they offer us a pair gritty 3rd/4th liners, I would take that. -
Official Jason Karmanos Hired as Sabres Associate GM
Marvin replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
Depends on the person and the employer. I have actively recruited and hired people whom I knew were not only better than I was at my job, but would eventually outclass me and go beyond me. Indeed, every person whom I had a helped train after they were hired is now miles past me professionally in IT. The reason I could do this is because the company liked that I could be honest and worked to help everyone around me improve. So they knew my value and made sure I was rewarded. For all their faults, I suspect Terry and Kim are in this mould. They let Rolston get one more win before firing him. The tried to let Krueger get one more win before firing him. If I were GMKA, I would feel pretty good if I were to hire Rutherford and Karmanos. -
I hope not.

To be honest, I want him to shut it down for the rest of the season -- even if there is a radical change in the atmosphere around the team. I want him better next season.

IMHO, it is a partial answer which, to some extent, absolves the player of some of the reasons of poor performance. The Sabres of much of the last decade are an example of "malpractise makes malperfect." (Solomon Short, character created by Dave Gerrold [author, including the _Star Trek_ episodes "The Trouble with Tribbles" and "More Tribbles, More Troubles"]; based on Robert Heinein's Lazarus Long.) The Bills did this for 17 years until Beane and McDermott came in. Get the right players; move good players who don't comply. Create an aura of professionalism. Expect accountability across the board including yourself. Add JA and POOF the stench is gone.

FYI: I stumbled across a YouTube video where Don Cherry said he thought that Tortorella deliberately avoided signing in Columbus. Cherry then mentioned that Tortorella might be a good fit hear. No justification for the connection between the two thoughts was given, but maybe that means something...or not.

I screwed up and thought this year still had a 3-way draw.

So who falls to us at 4? We try to sign him -- I hope.

Happy Birthday, Terry. Let's go, Buffalo.

Dominik Hasek made me think that we always had a chance to win it all because he coyld steal a series all by himself. Aside from 1993-4 throught 2000-1, most years when I thought we could win the Cup with "luck within the bounds of normal" for a Stanley Cup champion were following a regular season when we were a genuinely feared team. Thus, I have 1974-5 through 1977-8, 1979-80, 1980-1, 1983-4, 1989-90, 2005-6, 2006-7, 2009-10. Had we been healthy, 2010-1 would be on this list. And yes, the desultory decade has even worn on me.

Word on the street is he's had a second interview and it could be soon.

Officiating puzzles me. All the crap that gets let go -- and then a call like that.

Where is the Notary Public for this?

They will often show a complete lack of defencive awareness the rest of the way. Thank you, RK.

I have a cold. Help me out...

Correct. I remember laughing my ass off.

I hate to say it, but Boston seems to have a gear which Buffalo does not.

This is why the Christmas Trade Freeze exists. I think the owners did not even wait to create the "Mike Foligno Rule." Classless move by Gerry Meehan.

One of my most trusted friends lives in Ischua. I love visiting her, her husband, and her family on nice days like today.

They blew a lead against Philadelphia recently.

PA is right -- I missed the critical session of the mushroom lessons. I just heard that they outshot Boston in the second period and they still lead. I might be borderline delusional.

Is it just me, or does Okposo play better against older teams? The opposition are slower and he seems to read their plays better.
