  1. I can see a fundamental problem with the positioning of the forwards in the defencive zone. They are not aware of their positioning relative to the defencemen when the offencive players move diagonally towards the goal. They seem to cause an enormous number of screens of the goalkeeper.
  2. Turn the heat around. Love to hear the percussion. Turn it upside down. ...
  3. I only knew Kemp through my father and party business. From what.I saw of him, you and your father were lucky people. I recommend people find some of the old ESPN NFL history videos about Kemp, particularly the one about moving the AFL All-Star game. Sometimes, politics and sports intersect and there is no avoiding it. The more ambitious can read his political biography, which I believe is called _The Happy Warrior_. I will riff on one of his jokes and say that I am glad that his biannual threat to be QB for the Bills turned into a great career.
  4. Disclosure: I worked for the Dole-Kemp campaign in 1996. He and Dole were different from the people in their party now.
  5. Aaron Dell was signed earlier today.
  6. The league has been brainwashing casual fans into rooting for the Cowboys for decades.
  7. Unless something changes, I predict that they will be better in the defencive zone than we are within 20 games.
  8. Holy crap! A sensible choice. Whodathunkit?
  9. I want to give you a round of Boos for writing this -- but that would be crass hypocrisy on my part because I thought the same thing.
  10. Is this one of the biggest beat-downs that the Bills have laid on an allegedly superior opponent in the Josh Allen era?
  11. On TBD, it was good to see the first creator of a complaint thread about the team in general and Allen in particular stand up in public and eat his crow with a smile.
  12. Just musing: it occurs to me with not having good enough veterans for the youngsters to overcome is that the room lacks mid-range veterans to reinforce what the leaders are saying, particularly now among the forwards. A few more accomplished, sage voices in the room would help when adversity hits.
  13. Whaddaya mean we might beat Dallass? I read on TBD 8 days ago that the season was done for and that we might not win another game and certainly get blown out by the Cowpokes. You can't mean that they were wrong, could you? Everyone who proclaimed it seemed quite certain about it.
  14. Welcome back! I feel guilty missing games because I have been that loyal over the years, long COVID not withstanding. This season, because of the lack of quality veterans brought in the last 2 seasons and the lack of NHL-ready players in Rochester, I think that we will have to tolerate more this year, which sucks.
  15. The Sabres have been missing a line's worth of top-6ers most of the season. I think Tuch, Thompson, and Cozens have been playing hurt. No team without an embarrassment of NHL-ready riches could handle this level of injuries from the farm. The 4th line on the team has been at best marginal NHLers or AHL-NHL tweeners. IMHO, until this team is close to healthy, we will be seeing more of the same.
  16. Let's see. Botterill wouldn't draft from the CHL. Murray squandered a lot of assets. At most handful of Adams's picks could be in the NHL That is why there is little youth ready to make the jump to the NHL. That is why Adams needed more veterans to fill out the roster the last couple of years.
  17. They need their version of St. Louis's "Gloria" moment.
  18. Does anyone else sometimes get a feeling of dread on game days? There is a part of me that thinks that my long COVID is exacerbated on game days.
  19. GMKA has to be willing to trade high ceiling prospects for established veterans. If it is true that it is hard to sign people in the off-season, then he needs to figure out hockey trades with teams looking to rebuild or another team that needs a shake up. I don't see any way around it.
  20. I think that they care too much and that they don't have enough veteran guidance because they overall are too young to have learnt to deal with adversity at the NHL level.
  21. This is why @GASabresIUFAN, @PerreaultForever, and I wanted more veterans in the line-up for the youngsters to displace as they grew up. Maybe the reputation of the Sabres' organisation is such that the only players the team can get are like 2 years ago, with a bunch of marginal NHLers and has-beens. I wonder what else can be done.
  22. I am not faulting Tuch. Just pointed out that Dahlin is already an official part of leadership. It is possible that the Sabres need to move on from Okposo and Girgensons to take the next step. I don't know
  23. Well, Dahlin is a current member of the leadership group. I think that puts him ahead. My question is who else can step up?
  24. Too bad. I liked their attitude. I imagine that the continual floundering would be harder to stomach as a fan and owner.
  25. I agree. Here is how I see it: Along with the Old Men, Okposo, Girgensons, and Eric Johnson, Dahlin is the only defenceman that forwards mention with respect to his actions and Tuch is the only forward whom the defencemen mention with respect to his actions. My inference is that they are the only 2 younger players that have some command of the whole room.
