Alfredson has stepped up his game in the absence of Fisher and Spezza. Give Ottawa credit, for as bad as they started, they are nestled nicely in the middle of the playoff hunt and they have used the Sabres to right their ship. Time to reverse this trend and put a healthy beating on them.

Okay here is where the greed comes in. I now want them to continue this streak by beating Ottawa and Pittsburgh. Time to put some distance between us and the competition.

As I said a couple of days ago, I'm looking for a sign that this team has achieved elite status. I wanted to see them beat Washington, Carolina, Atlanta, NYI, Ottawa, Toronto and Pittsburgh IN A ROW. I know that is a lot to ask, but they are certainly capable. I want them to send a message to the rest of the league that they are worthy of their number 1/2 status in the NHL. So far so good, they took impressive care of Washington and Carolina. Knock back Atlanta next.

Yeah I caught that. But they have already won this season, in Edmonton, with their 3rd stringer under much the same circumstances.. My bet is they don't miss a beat.. They have Carolina tomorrow, so these two games will be an interesting comparison of styles. No breaks for Carolina having to play the two best teams back-to-back and travel. I hope they lose both of them..

I keep looking for a sign that this team can challenge Anaheim and win. Anaheim just keeps rolling along. They went in to SJ and beat them. So for me.. Beating Washington, Carolina, Atlanta and Ottawa in a row would be a sign. Good, capable teams. Lets get it started. No more excuses.

Buffalo's is back on their heels. Their passing is not crisp and they seem to skate into two Blues D-men everytime they enter the zone. Bad bounces around the goal haven't helped either. Not often you seen Campbell with a bad turnover, but he had a major one that almost was cashed in. Danny on a rush through the middle to Hecht. Hecht drives it home... PRETTY PLAY!!! Just an awful first period for the Sabres. Out shot, outplayed and out scored.. Seems like most of the play has been in the Sabres zone..
