Hmmm.. exactly what line of work are you in?

I always thought that the tip was above and beyond compensation. I never realized that you had to pay for your own gas. So when Papa Johns charges a delivery fee, who is getting the money? By the way, Papa Johns is plain ruining pizza in this country.

I finally win the rights to LT in fantasy football and he comes up with a bumb toe.. Sheesh..

I want to take a moment and rail against Mike and Mike. I genuinely like these guys. But their radio show is almost "unlistenable" in the car. For every minute they are on the air they are off with a one minute commerical. They also sneak commercials in while on the air by saying this segment brought to you by. You get to hear them banter for three or four minutes and they go to a commercial break for three or four minutes. It's freakin' maddening I say.

My complaint is that I send gobs of dollars to DirecTV for the NFL games and I don't get to see the preseason games. Sup with dat?

I know the genies out of the bottle, but I would really like to see Americans revert the status of the Olympians back to amateurs. I could care less whether the rest of the world follows or not. The reason the Miracle on Ice was so amazing was because the amateur Americans beat the unofficially-pro Russians. I really don't like the NBA and the NHL playing in the Olympics. I don't like that pro skaters and swimmers compete. Take the whole thing back to what it was intended to be, a competition of amateurs. We sent 700+ athletes to China. That's beyond ridiculous. Team sizes should be capped regardless of your economic might. And finally, someone please tell me how one of the uniformly smallest group of people on the planet can dominate the weight lifting medals to this point? That's crazy..

Wow, how'd you get there? I wouldn't have gone there on my own.. Now you got me thinkin' thee "doth protest too much"..

Clearly playing 25% of your games against HOF QBs can't be good for your long term prospects. I like the competition, but I truly wish he went somewhere else. Pennington, yuk.. That's not an upgrade. Culppepper is out there. Go get Dante!!! Culpepper to Evans would be sweet... Besides my fantasy team isn't the same without him, "The Red Hot Culpeppers".... Dante needs a job... Oh yeah, my complaint... Favre just said, "I'm not a trader"... Pleasssseeeee...

Which we now get to face twice a year.... Oh the joy...

Always been an option, but I paid for that and I already gave these guys my deductible on their first visit. Just got off the phone with the company. They told me that the warranty company advised them on the 11th that they would seek a second opinion. I guess my parts are starting to cost some serious coin. I ask why no one advised me of this decision and was told simply, sorry. We thought they would call you. Can you hear my kettle boiling...

Was hoping to go a week without a post here, but I'm truly a-steamin... I bought a house with a built-in pool last September. Being the smart person I am, I opted for a 1-yr home warranty insurance package to include pool coverage. At inspection, I knew that I needed to replace the multi-port valve and the blower for the hot tub. No big deal. I call the warranty company in October before we closed the pool and they sent a reputable company out. Turns out they brought two wrong replacement parts even though I was careful to quote the correct specs over the phone to them. So I say, no big deal, I'm closing the pool for the winter we'll fix er up in the spring. Summer comes and I call my home warranty company. On 2 June they send a new company out to the house to assess the situation. They say, hmm.. the company that made those pool parts has gone out of business. But we'll find you some replacement parts. I say, cool.. A month goes by and I call and say, what's up? They tell me they're having a devil of a time finding the blower and my file has been handed over to the owner for personal supervision. I say, um.. okay... I'm told, he'll call you. So he calls and says he'd like to send someone out to the house the next day to look at these obsolete parts. I say, okay.... but you already had someone out here a month ago. But I agree.. I get stiffed. No one shows the next day. I wait a week or so, and call again. I'm told that someone will come out with the multiport valve. The air blower, well that's a problem. I tell them I'm not wed to this one, just bring me any old one so i can make some bubbles in the hottub. No problem. So I take a morning off of work and the guy comes. He brings the wrong part for the multiport valve. Seems I got a goes-inta when the standard commercial now is a goes-outa. So basically, he repeats the mistake of the first company even though his guys have already been out one time to photograph. I'm still waiting... It's August. I have one month left in my warranty and my blood's a-boiling...

The only place I hate an umbrella is at a Bills Game. They block your view and push the rain into your lap or on your head depending where it's at. I don't understand going to a football game in Buffalo and not being waterproof..

That can make daily life challenging.

:) True dat.. Seems like he's letting the neighbor off easy. But it is totally appropriate to hate the cable companies nonetheless. They are evil incarnate.

You left off the worst culprit of this practice, HP. Buy a simple printer and get a massive amount of software loaded.

I drove from Ridgecrest CA to Yosemite on Saturday and then Ridgecrest to Sequoia/Kings Canyon on Sunday. I paid $200 for gas and $40 in entrance fees to go to two parks. Couldn't get a room anywhere near the parks. Never thought I see the day I'd drop 250 bucks on gas and entrance fees. I'd like to thank all those that made this possible.

A Cubs fan AND a Sabres fan.. Man you like your pain..

I HATE people who carry their luggage on the plane. I HATE all airlines, especially SW. I HATE the frickin guy who put a bomb in his shoe so now I have to remove my shoes when running the TSA gauntlet. I HATE the security lines at D concourse in BWI. I HATE summer thunderstorms. I HATE flying through O'hare after 4pm. I HATE flights that leave at 1AM. And I REALLY HATE MIDDLE SEATS on long flights between oversized Americans.

Pretty good night for the Sabres. They got two points, NJ one and Atlanta and Montreal got zero.

Man up time for Boston. I suspect we'll see a much different game tonight. I predict a 3-2 kinda game.

Priceless article from the Boston Globe this AM... here is a snippet: "The parade of horribles began with a Wayne Primeau hold (0:17), followed by a Shean Donovan hook (1:06) and then a delay of game at 2:04 when captain Zdeno Chara popped the puck over the glass. Eleven seconds after Big Z's little boo-boo, Vanek hammered home the go-ahead goal. The landslide had begun. Adding to the horror show, the Bruins lost Krejci for the night when he was drilled by a stiff elbow to the upper body from Sabres forward Adam Mair. Called up from Providence earlier in the day, Krejci was out cold on his feet at 14:51, after only three shifts and 2:07 in ice time. Brad Stuart and team trainer Don DelNegro scraped him off the ice and sent him on his way to the dressing room, one heck of a Wile E. Coyote welcome to the big leagues. "I don't remember how I got in the room," said Krejci, who will be examined today in Boston, his availability for tomorrow night's game doubtful. "I'm feeling better every minute. It's up to the coach if I can play. I could play if it was up to me." Typical of Boston's play this season, no one ever took Mair to task for the high hit. There was a slight dustup after the belt, but it amounted to nothing more than pixie dust. Primeau engaged him in what would best be called a courtesy bout midway through the third, but all in all, the Bruins do little sticking up for each other. Savard was boarded from behind late in the second by Gaustad, the score at 5-1, and again there was no retaliation. They all wear the same uniform, but a team is woven in spirit, not in textiles. Right now the Bruins look worn out and lost."

The A list tonight 1. Briere hat trick 2. Pommer Shorty 3. Power Play goals 4. Overwhelming Offense 5. A lead pass to Briere for a breakaway goal (how long has it been since we have seen that?) 6. The play of Paetsch, Paille, Goose and Roy 7. Marty 8. End of a three game losing streak 9. Stewart's check on Paetsch 10. All four lines played great and contributed
-
Some thoughts about these lines: 1. Pommer, Hecht and Briere -- Seems good for Hecht lately but Pommer's scoring has dried up. 2. Vanek, Drury, Kotalik -- Everybody who plays with Drury gets better. Wonder if all that chemistry on the RAV line is now destroyed. 3. Paille, Roy, Max: I remember Vanek saying he never knows what Max is going to do, but at least he was able to mesh. Putting Paille up there seems to be pointless to me... This line will suffer. 4. Paetsch, Goose, Mair - Don't care, they score about as often as a blue moon. Too bad for Goose.. He seems to draw the short straw repeatedly.

I've gone underground for a few games here, although I have watched them all. Whether the team is pissed or not doesn't matter. You can be pissed and still not play up to potential. The bottom line for me is that they haven't played good D in a long time. Offense has cooled down about a goal per game since the heady days of October and their goals against has remained about the same. That translates into losses. It may be perception, but the guy who has cooled off to me is Vanek. He is taking lots of shots or is near goals, but they ain't going in lately. I'd like to see the RAV line kick it up a notch.

Good game in the end... So close to a point, but not to be...
