I think part of the problem is also… The antiquated mindset that if you’re taller than 6’ 2” you need to be a physical specimen who crushes people and plays a grinding physical game. Or another common phrase “uses his body”. there are many players that could be listed who are not “physical” at all who have had long NHL careers, and are over 6’ 2”. The very first one that comes to my mind… Tyler Myers. He is still playing in the league, and yet he’s really not physical at all. Not for what some people expect a 6’ 7” player to be. And one can list players that are no taller than 6’ who are “physical” as all hell, and good at it. Like I said it’s an antiquated mindset. A height of a player no longer determines the level of their “physical” game. Or the expected level of “physical” play. Especially for today’s NHL.

They actually made Ullmark look passable as a starting NHL goalie.

Thanks for the answers @matter2003 and @Taro T …. I thought the bar was set higher for the NFL HOF. That’s not a knock or an intended insult to the HOF. I genuinely thought the bar was set higher. So with those answers you gave… I guess there is a good possibility that Josh Allen gets into the HOF. Incredible.

I am admittedly speaking out of ignorance… So this is a honest question… If Josh Allen takes the bills to the playoffs several times in his career but never make it to the Super Bowl, let alone win the Super Bowl… Is he still considered a Hall of Famer when he retires? Wouldn’t that be kind of debatable? And are other quarterbacks who had that kind of career not in the Hall of Fame?

“Getting a sense” is exactly what I mean by eating up what they say. I Understand for some fans it’s important for them to hear what the GM says at the end of season press conference. They wanna be able hang their fandom hat on something going into the off-season. and that’s fine. I’m just not one of those fans that believe anything that comes out of the GM’s mouth going into the off-season. Other than reflecting on what just happened during the season. And even that I would take with a grain of salt to a degree. I’ve seen and I’m sure you’ve seen enough postseason press conferences with enough sports throughout the years to know that things just aren’t said and given to the masses for a reason.
