No, I think most realize he’s a physical stay at home D man who won’t acquire many points. Isn’t flashy. Will quietly do his job most nights. And will mostly be on the bottom pairing with occasional bump ups to the top 4 because of injuries or coaching adjustments in game etc … Most are not thinking the way you are portraying. No, myself and every STH I know paid in full or are on a payment plan for Season tickets a month or more ago. Moves the Sabres make today or this summer, and The draft picks made a few days ago has/had no effect on if myself or the STH I know renewed their seats this season. IF there was any validity to what you said… I would not have been a STH since 2004. and the STH’ers I know, have been longtime holders as well. And they would not renew year after year either if what you said was valid. Now if you want to talk strictly about brand new season ticket holders coming on board… Then perhaps a very very small percentage base their interest of getting in on season tickets solely on UFA market acquisitions in the summer leading up to the season. But I would guess an extremely small amount are that narrow minded to only consider the UFA market acquisitions when considering buying season tickets. Just my thoughts…

You can just judge in a vacuum within the Sabres and players themselves, or do a deeper dive and compare the Sabres picks with what the other teams picked in those years as well. BTG had his issues and flaws … but I’ll tell you what… if my GM was acquiring contracts without knowing every nuance and syllable and not understanding every single clause to that contract. Then being surprised at some clause that kicks in and not being able to explain it to the owner… BTG had every right to be pissed… I know I would be. Not over spending the money. But over not having the knowledge of a clause when acquiring the contract to begin with. He really screwed up that whole Drury thing. My god that was bad.
