OK, agree to disagree. I have been going to games for decades just like you have. I really don’t think it was anywhere near 14,000. No big deal.

That was a fun season opener to go to. There were 15,000.+ tickets sold. But there definitely wasn’t that many in the seats. I would guess 11,000 to 12,500 were actually there.

I couldn’t care less who starts the first game of the season. I just don’t. In the grand scheme of things, it’s such a non issue. Just get the win….

I laugh and laugh and laugh when I read that you need “great goaltending” in order to make the playoffs. Osgood was not a great goalie. The team in front of him made him look better than he was. Same with Crawford. Same for so many teams who had slightly above average goalies, but had deep teams in front of him to make him look much much better and do damage in the playoffs. You don’t NEED great goaltending. But it helps.
