Well … yea. IF you don’t have a deep team. You need amazing goaltending to reach the playoffs. AKA “the Hasek years” 😂

I laugh and laugh and laugh when I read that you need “great goaltending” in order to make the playoffs. Osgood was not a great goalie. The team in front of him made him look better than he was. Same with Crawford. Same for so many teams who had slightly above average goalies, but had deep teams in front of him to make him look much much better and do damage in the playoffs. You don’t NEED great goaltending. But it helps.

Was that the only exhibition loss?

Have you called David and Adams? Have you called Al Ross? Have you called the Sabres store? I would imagine one of those three places would do that service.

Have you checked to see how many exhibition games all teams “starters” are playing during the preseason? Is it really an anomaly or more of an average for most teams?

It’s exhibition preseason. I personally don’t read anything good or bad into lineups or scores now. It’s unnecessary IMO. There are more exhibition games after this one.
