A lot of fans are in that boat as well. They can’t separate the two. My favorite line is “he better do X, Y, or Z” oh yea, and if he doesn’t? Whatcha gonna do, not be a fan of the Sabres anymore? 😂 All talk …

Let’s see …. 🤔 What would be more entertaining on this forum …. Levi starting in goal and everyone continuing the lovefest even if he gets lit up. OR Comrie starting, letting in 5 goals on 20 shots and the board catching fire 😂 It’s a toss up….

I honestly believe the hang up some have is they are so fixated on an opinion they have of him 2, 3, 4 years ago, that they don’t want to change their mind even with new data. They don’t want to admit that their earlier assessment and definitive judgement was wrong. And couple that with the tired and flawed opinion that a “1st round forward draft pick must be a top 6 player in the NHL or he’s a bust” mindset. Mitts has developed slow but well. And I think he has more to give next season.

Added. Thanks!

I heard someone make a comment yesterday… That he may come back as early as Tuesday’s game. If not, then the game after.

Saw this gem 8/2020 … ”Still think he's only worth a 4th round pick. You find a GM that'll give you more, you jump on it. He's garbage. Watching him play against professional players in both the NHL and AHL has cemented my opinion. He simply doesn't have what it takes to be a professional hockey player.” 😂 I’m personally glad he’s doing so well. I hope he continues to develop and continue to prove he does belong in the NHL.

A lot of early reactions with Mitts have aged very poorly. I am glad he’s developing. And I am glad DG is the coach that put him in a place to succeed and feel he’s contributing and effective. His confidence and vision has really blossomed in the past few months. Love it. Just because he’s a first round draft pick and not a high output 1st liner doesn’t mean he’s a failure as an NHLer. At least that’s how I see it.

Besides that goal, UPL had a strong period. Sabres need to tighten up the D and create more O. beauty goal by KO -

I’d like to see him interview Anderson and Mitts -
Fake. Time to remove or close this thread.

I don’t view him as small at all. I view players under 5’ 10” as small. He’s not a giant either obviously.

The Buffalo Sabres can extend their point streak to five games tonight against the Philadelphia Flyers at Wells Fargo Center. The Sabres are 3-0-1 in their last four contests coming off a 3-2 overtime victory over the New York Rangers at home on Friday. Devon Levimade 31 saves in his NHL debut. Coverage on MSG begins at 6:30 p.m. The puck drops at 7 on MSG and WGR 550. Tage Thompson has not been ruled out to play against the Flyers, Sabres coach Don Granato said postgame on Friday. Thompson missed his second consecutive game with an upper-body injury. "There is (a chance)," Granato said. "I would say slight because it's back-to-back. But what he has can resolve to the point where he's pain-free at any moment. We'll see and hope that that's the case." Jordan Greenway and Mattias Samuelssonboth returned from upper-body injuries against the Rangers. Greenway scored his second goal with the Sabres; Samuelsson returned to the top defense pair and skated 22:13. The Sabres are looking to bounce back from their last visit to Philadelphia, a 5-2 loss on March 17. Victor Olofsson scored both goals for the Sabres. Owen Tippett had a hat trick for the Flyers. That game ignited a seven-game point streak for Philadelphia (5-0-2), which continued with an overtime loss to Ottawa on Thursday. Tippett has eight points (5+3) during the run. Felix Sandstrom (2-10-3, .887 save percentage) is expected to make his third straight start in goal. -
Article about Levi … https://www.trainwrecksports.com/from-dollard-to-buffalo-the-devon-levi-story/

Well first of all don’t listen to Paul Hamilton. He’s clueless most of the time. However it was mentioned in another thread… That it would be wise to pair Levi up with a pretty good veteran goaltender once he does make the NHL on a regular basis. to lean on to learn from to grow and develop.
-
Most of this board is optimistic on Levi’s future. I know I am. Tonight we see typical defense with Rookie goaltending. Rags … 6 Sabres … 3 Skinner, TNT, or Dahlin with a goal
-
Me personally I’ve actually done that with every goalie No matter who it is. Actually every player not just goalies. Hell, I haven’t even come down on a definitive decision about Greenway yet 😂
-
Well if this rumor holds true… Good for him to get a game in. if he gives up a ton of goals… That’s no reflection on him or his future ability.
-
Ok this escaped me. Give me the punchline or point. Thanks

@matter2003 maybe change the title a little to be a general between two stalls thread. Just a thought. -
Hey be nice. Just because I don’t think that he is short? Um ok.
