Just for fun. I looked at the 3rd pick of our closest rival. The Toronto Maple Leafs. Let’s see how well they did with their 3rd pick in each draft since 2010. I left out 2017 and 2018 because it’s just too damn early to know if such a young player will be a decent player in the NHL until he develops more. 2010... Sondre Olden. 0 NHL games. 2011... Josh Leivo. 84 NHL games. Currently in the AHL with Vancouver. 2012... Dominic Toninato. 37 NHL games. Currently in the AHL with Colorado. 2013... Fabrice Herzog. 0 NHL games. 2014... JJ Piccinich. 0 NHL games. 2015... Jeremy Bracco. 0 NHL games. 2016... Carl Grundström. 0 NHL games. But to be fair. He’s still developing. So from my POV, Toronto’s 3rd pick in each draft listed aren’t anything to brag about. In fact it’s rather poor. And you could go thru the majority of the league and find similar results in the majority (over 16) teams. So to single out the Sabres as some oddity In poorly picking their 3rd player is false. Some teams drafted better, sure. But most teams are in a similar boat with “hitting” on draft picks past the 1st round.

Wow ... Mitts is a rookie. Relax. He’s way too talented to not develop into a very good player. You sound like those fans a few years ago who wrote off Reinhart because he didn’t come out and light up the lamp in his first year. Reinhart has developed and continues to develop nicely. And I don’t know what you mean by 3rd pick. Do you literally mean the 3rd Sabres pick? Or the 3rd round pick?

A few Suggestions... KAUAI ... hiking the kalalau trail from ke’e beach. Waimea canyon state park Na Pali coast dinner cruise MAUI Maui ocean center Haleakala star gazing guided tour snorkeling/snuba diving OAHU diamond head Pearl Harbor Waikiki beach and shopping THE BIG ISLAND Mauna Kea sunset tour with Summit Adventures. Mauna Kea has different countries observatories at the summit. You can’t drive to the summit in a rental. You need to be part of a tour group. See green or black sand beaches Hawaii volcano national park. Possibly see lava flowing. i could give you a ton more, but I know your time is limited. A few of those suggestions are free.

Hes playing great ... in the OHL. He’s nowhere near close. He’s gonna need a couple more years. Minimum. He’s just turned 20, i think his path is Amerks next season for a full season as backup. 20-21 season as starter for Amerks. 21-22 season as a backup on the Sabres. If he excels then maybe the developmental path can be shortened a bit. He’ll be 22-23 if all goes well and he makes it to the Sabres as a backup. That timeline corresponds with Hutton’s contract ending. UPL is one prospect I don’t want rushed at all. Develop develop develop!

Like every prospect who haven’t made it to the NHL full time ... Olofsson will bulk up over the summer a little and work on a list of things the training staff tell him to. As will Dahlin, Borgen, Nylander, Thompson, etc .....

Now this ... is a head scratcher... Press box paycheck for an evening I guess. https://sabresdigitalpressbox.com/2019/03/28/sabres-recall-tennyson/

Exactly. So a useless move.

He’s a joke. Terrible writer. Asks the lamest questions at media scrums. And he sensationalizes like a 13 year old. I’m surprised people don’t see how obtuse and dramatic he is.

It took us 36 hours after landing to feel “acclimated” to the 6 hour time difference. Shave ice with macadamia nut ice cream is a must have. With the help of my wife, later I’ll list a bunch of things we did and liked.
-
Ok. I used the wrong word apparently. You still read that idiot?

Hope the time in Roch. With a good team and good coaching develops this kid and he come in next season noticeably better. And hopefully Housley is gone and doesn’t ruin his development path.

I was married on the beach on Kauai in 2007 in Princeville. Then spent 20 days island hopping. We went back in 2017 and spent 18 days island hopping. we went all over Kauai, Maui, Oahu, and the Big Island. We budgeted where we could, and splurged where we could. lots of lower cost or free “nature” destinations if you and your family like doing nature stuff. If you are more of a city sights, shopping family, you’re gonna pay pay pay in most cases. Keep in mind the devastation of the recent lava flow of Kilauea on the Big Island will limit where you can go and what’s available to see/do.

You still follow that idiot? Um why?

What Sabres fans subconsciously think to themselves when watching playoff hockey over the past several years ...

Housley had this on heavy rotation in September ...

I’m first and foremost a Sabres fan. STH since 2004. But as you know, a solid farm team is so vital to success for the big club. I watch probably 5-7 Amerks games a season. I’m not saying you ... but it blows my mind how some fans couldn’t care less about the success of the Amerks. Like one doesn’t heavily impact the other. It’s a weird and sophomoric stance.
