  1. One will never happen to the chagrin of the uninformed.
  2. First mistake is following hockey buzz. Second mistake is sharing it because it makes one look like they half believe it haha... I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I would actually believe Harrington before I believed anything on hockey buzz. Hey, yea, if Harrington wants to leave Buffalo News, he should go to hockey buzz. He’d fit right in with his coveted journalism degree he barely uses. ?
  3. Sam will be the straw that stirs the drink thru a good portion of his career. He’ll get more points some years, less points in others... but overall I think he’ll be a 55-65 point player most seasons. For what he brings to a line and with his further development in the coming years ... I can see him getting a longer contract valued around 6.5-7.5 per. And it’s worth it. He’s developed and developing nicely.
  4. I agree. on the other hand, IF IF IF he agreed to just a four year deal, he could really cash in with a 4 x 9.5/10 type of payday. Then at age 31 (barely), he gets another four year deal, probably in the neighborhood of 6 mil. per. So for 8 years he will have made roughly 64 mil.
  5. If Skinner walks, turn around and offer sheet Marner
  6. 8 x 8 heavily front loaded with signing bonuses. OR 4 x 9 both with no NTC or NMC
  7. Get me up to speed here ... so Tom buys multiple tickets to a game in an agreed upon section. And we all show up to go to the game together? IF that’s the case, maybe have a pregame get together dinner at Chefs or 716. It would allow more convo with everyone instead of just who you sit next to at the game. Just a thought....
  8. IF you mean after it’s signed by both sides? Then no. Unless the player offers to waive the NTC to allow himself to be moved. IF you mean if a contract is for 7 years, but the NTC kicks in for years 3 thru 7 ... that scenario happens often with NTC and NMC agreements.
  9. I’ve been watching the whole game. STL looks so much better this game.
  10. Haha, yea, I’ll never be a 46er either. Mt. Marcy is a bear as well. Kilimanjaro will be a hell of an accomplishment. I hope you do it. My wife and I over the years like to summit states high points. So far we have done 25 states. I know we’ll never do McKinley (Denali), but I’m hopeful to try to get to the rest.
  11. I’ve summited that and 7 others in the region. It’s a great challenge. And by the looks of it a beautiful day to do it. The views are some of the best. Good job summiting.??
  12. It’s a shame there are still ungrateful pissants in this country. Majority I feel, in my experiences are under 40. Not all of course. anyway ... Cool story/video of a vet ... https://mashable.com/article/pete-dupre-harmonica-uswnt-national-anthem/
  13. And if he gets more consistent play out of not only the goalies but everyone, contrary to what a few around here believe, this team has the talent to make the playoffs. Now that’s not to say we can’t use 3-4 upgrades (besides goal) to put us in a position to do damage beyond the 1st round. Coaching, system, and in game adjustments WERE our biggest weakness. Hopefully with the hiring of RK and his assistants, that will no longer be the case. Now I think our biggest weakness is an effective dangerous 2nd line. Hopefully JB will address that this summer.
  14. The “Sabres (compared to all the other teams) have drafted poorly in all rounds over the past 10 years” narrative is lame, dramatic and wrong. No matter how it “feels” worse to some. I’m trying to find the article, but someone did an analysis of the “hit rate” of draft picks. All things were considered, like realistic expectations of the player, team depth, games played in what league and how many, injuries etc ... The Sabres were right in the middle of the pack of the league. Ranked #14, 15 or 16 from what I recall.
  15. As long as Grigorenko stays away from the Sabres, he can go play anywhere his little heart desires. He and Yakupov are dumb and dumber. edit: I don’t know their intelligence or lack thereof.... so it’s more like bust and bust-ier.
  16. Sure, do the poll. But then, list RFA’s that may be available... I’m thinking of the teams tight against the cap. Something may shake loose.
  17. Yep. And that percentage will creep down over the next 6 years. He’s a bigger center that is defensively responsible. And can play wing if need be. It’s a solid fair signing.
  18. I bet the vast majority of hockey fans want STL to win the cup. ESPN or some media network should do a poll. I bet it would end up being 75% STL, 25% BOS.
  19. Congrats O’Reilly. Good for him.
