He’s pretty credible. Somewhere between McKenzie and Eklund
-
So it increases 2 mil. from last season. Ok ...
-
6th rounder ... If he develops well, he’ll make a solid AHLer in a few years. Good for him!
-
So some fans still freak out and demand GM’s get fired for 3rd -7th round picks. The same picks that have like a 15% or less chance of carving out a career (over 200 games) in the NHL. Now that’s funny.
-
Which “happened” first? Sabres or Mustangs?
-
Yea Kylo Ren. He’s a close twin. Im not gonna wring my hands over this pick. He’s a good solid choice. Tons of upside
-
A hybrid of Sean Couturier and Evander Kane perhaps?
-
I’m not upset over the pick. He’ll develop over the next 2-3 years and hopefully make the Sabres and be a solid contributor. Even if he tops out as a #4/5 Dman. No matter who was picked at 31, he’s not making an NHL roster for years. Looking at all the kids picked in the 1st round in 2015, 2016, 2017, the majority of them aren’t on NHL rosters full time yet. Let alone being very good players at the NHL level.

Those that don’t like the Pegulas will say that it’s all luck. Those that love the Pegulas will say it’s all competence. Like most teams construction and success or failure, I believe it’s always a little of both.

Not to mention, I think some fans have an unrealistic elevated (don’t know where it came from) expectation of Sheary. He is and most likely will continue to be a feisty 30-40 point small winger. He got 34 points last year. 30 the year before that. The only season he’s eclipsed 40 points was when he was stapled to Sydney freaking Crosby’s line for most of the season. He’s most likely not gonna be stapled to Eichels line. He’s on a fair contract for what he brings. On a semi-deep team he’s a 3rd line guy who can play up the lineup on spot duty for a few games. Don’t expect something he’s not and never will be. Just my opinion. As far as Vesey. Don’t want. JB should aim higher.

Change that 2nd rounder to this years 1st rounder #7 ... for Taylor Hall.... now it’s close. In the last three years (most current therefore most valid) he’s played 181 games and has 183 points. He’s a ppg producer. He’ll be 28 in November so I think he still has 4-5 solid years left in him before he starts to tail off. He can play C and LW. Losing Hall is gonna hurt the Devils big time. So getting Hall is gonna hurt big time.

It stings, but That’s too light for Marner. It has to really hurt. They would want more. Add Risto. And I would still do it.

Sabres RFAs Receiving Qualifying Offers from the Team
Zamboni replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
We? I’m ok with it this season. Unless JB can snag an upgrade for around the same price. Maybe, just maybe, certain players will actually be much better under this new coach. Maybe, just maybe certain players will be better playing with different line mates. Maybe, just maybe certain players will develop further and be more effective. Sure the opposite is equally true across the board I suppose. I just can’t play the negative Nancy Debbie downer roll. It’s (to use a very overused word on here) obnoxious IMO. -
Prediction? Seriously. I predict JB like um takes and places phone calls and emails to better the roster. In each of the prior two off seasons he’s moved 10 guys on and off the roster. I’ll like predict he does something close to or similar this off season. Yea yea. That’s the ticket. Now where did I put down my magic 8 ball?

Yea... on the list of things wrong with the roster, the 4th line is way down on the list. Of course, if you can upgrade the 4th line for around the same price, you do it. -
I’m surprised some can call others obtuse.

Am I wrong or right when I think that qualifying offers are a 10% increase from a players last years salary. -

Well since there are 15,000 STH’s and 2,500 seats available at Harbor Center. And there is massive interest ... Every year the place is packed.

Some of those things you mentioned, presumes a lot. How about just taking his comments at face value. And not add more than what’s actually being said.

I know! At the very least put the GD Jumbotron feed on the team website. That’s aggravated me for a decade now. The tech is there to do it. Minimal effort.

I’ve always thought there were too many preseason games. Three is fair. But owners will never agree to less. Too much money to be made. Especially in robust hockey markets.
