RK is gonna throw a lot of weird combos out there for the majority of the preseason. ALL coaches do every year. For the Sabres, Housley did it, Bylsma did it, Nolan did it, Ruff did it etc ... The combos will change from period to period some games. This concept is nothing odd, weird, wrong or outside the box.

Ullmark will be a solid NHL backup for most of his career. He may have a year or two where he’s considered a starting goalie. But overall, he’ll spend most of his career as a backup.

I think that’s an exaggeration to say the team is screwed. He alone won’t determine their record. And regardless of how you feel, Sobotka will be at camp. He now has a lot of competition to keep his roster spot. Unlike last year. Let’s hope a rookie blows him away in camp and JB waives Sobotka. Wishful thinking.
