Watching Vesey live in person and on TV, I come away with ... well, he has some bright spots, and it may take him some time to gel and build chemistry with someone. Looking at a bigger sample size in a month would be wise. Too early for me personally to make all encompassing, generalizing, definitive decisions on him.

Agree. And anyone who expects perfection or near perfection for 60 mins a game are quite detached from the reality of sports. Or just have unrealistic expectations and will always be disappointed.

Well, I’m glad Chefs wasn’t the highlight of my evening. It was a nail bitter of a game. SJ is a good team. I’m glad their goaltending is mediocre. Much like ours. Solid game by Reinhart and Joker.

I saw the original New Hope when I was 6 at a theatre. As a kid my parents and family bought a lot of toys from the first 3 movies. I was very immersed for years. I’ve liked every movie. Some more than others, but every one I’ve enjoyed. Why? Because it’s entertainment and I don’t get all serious and super “judgey” like some critics do. (No one here is over the top fruit loops in their criticism). Mild opinion or preferences are very understandable in the Star Wars universe with fans. I also never got into the huge choices of books or side stories written. Pretty strictly just interested in the movies. Well, except for playing Battlefronts on PS2, and now PS4 ?. I’m looking very forward to the closing chapter to a terrific experience/story that for me has spanned 42 years since seeing the original New Hope in a theatre with my uncle. Maybe I’ll take him, all these years later. ?

Meh. I’m not all negative Nancy on JB. Could he have done better? Of course! So could 30 other GM’s. Could he have done worse? Of course! So could 30 other GM’s. To date, I think I’ll give him a solid B. Room to improve, and I hope he does. And not at all a terrible GM.

I can see and accept Reinhart getting 6-8 year, 6.5-8 mil. per.

UPL won’t sniff the NHL this entire season. Next season I can see him getting some preseason games. And perhaps a handful with Sabres. In 21-22, if he’s developing well, I can see him backing up whoever Sabres have as a starter. By 21-22, Hutton will be gone. If he signs a one year with Sabres and stays instead of retires, then UPL stays in Roch an extra year. Unless something major happens like a goalie trade or major long term injury, that’s the path I feel is most likely.

Doughty (for awhile now) has joined the Brett Burns house of style club. Its the “I don’t give a flying fig how I look anymore, I’m rich”.. mixed with the “I give up” mantra.
