  1. So let me get this straight .... some refuse to believe that JB is active with making and receiving phone calls regarding a trade or two. but you’ll believe nothing is “on the front burner” Chose to not believe any positive news. Chose to believe all the negative though. ok then ...
  2. Why compare our thoughts with people over at HFBoards? I couldn’t care less about people over there. On this board, with this group of fans, fans of this team, is what matters most. Not what other fans of other teams think. And it looks like the majority think Eichel is (by their personal definition) “Elite” . It’s not wrong. It’s a personal opinion.
  3. Exactly! Too many fans don’t take that mindset into consideration, It’s also why “on pace for” conversations are flat out dumb IMO. It almost never comes to fruition. how often do we read or hear “Player XYZ is on pace for 110 pointzzz!!” fast forward to April and they end up with 78 points. ?
  4. For years ... it was Hasek ... and the “average” Sabres. Which made the team overachieve at times and look better than they really were. Management failed to capitalize on having one of the best goalies. For years it was Ovechkin and the “average” Caps. Until they injected that team with better talent thru trades and development and won the cup. When Red Wings won the cup with Osgood, they had a great team in front of a slightly above average goalie. I hope Sabres management sees they need one more top 6 guy. One who has grit and can bury the puck with consistency. I’m breaking a different way from a lot of you. I don’t think the Sabres need to be “all blown up”. Not all aggressive and drastic. One or two top 6 guys will do this team wonders. Waiting and hoping Dylan freaking Cozens as a 19 year old kid will be the immediate answer is obtuse. I hope JB isn’t obtuse. Secondary scoring via 2nd line center is vital. And our weak link now. Typing that last sentence gets me so aggravated because we had a very good one in ROR.
  5. Sorta like an Evander Kane. Without the garbage drama. Skinner should just be the “greedy puck hog” to a point. He has a nice shot and is smart with creativity at times.
  6. I don’t think that’s really the difference. You do?
  7. Huh? I didn’t hear you? Lol
  8. Now THAT one, Ullmark should have anticipated that one and been in better position. Meh. Perfectly placed shot too.
  9. Nope. Not worst in the league. But getting there!
  10. I hate that freak. but seriously ... he has a condition or skeletal anomaly. I forgot what it was... see if I can find something ... found it .... When Lucic was 15-years-old he went through a growth spurt, and in that spurt brought really bad posture.Lucic was unable to straighten his back. So, eventually he went to see a doctor and he was diagnosed with Scheuermann’s disease, a condition that causes the upper back to curve.
  11. Brian Duff ... What the H E double hockey sticks are you thinking with that jacket bro?
  12. No we don’t have the worst. I forgot what it is ... like 26th or 27th in the league. nitro got it
  13. Haha ... I’ve noticed the ones who don’t care for Reinhart as a player are the ones who point watch or puck watch when they watch games. Or the ones who only notice “talent” and “skill” is when the player plays fast, skates fast, or dipsy doodles like the second coming of Afinogenov. Not everyone mind you, but a lot. At least that’s what I’ve noticed.
  14. Thank you for posting snippets from the athletic. Too many posters just throw up links and assume everyone can read the article beyond a paragraph or so. (Usually the cut off point for non subscribers). You, get it. And I thank you.
  15. Yea I agree. Ullmark will settle into being a good solid goalie. Weather it be starter or backup. He’ll stick in the NHL for many years. I project he’ll have a career similar (key word) to Biron/Neuvirth.
  16. Sharpen Up: All the Sabres news you need to know on December 5, 2019 The Buffalo Sabres kick off a three-game road trip tonight. They'll face the Calgary Flames at 9 p.m. on MSG and WGR 550. Pregame coverage begins on MSG at 8:30. Here's what you need to know. Buffalo is 13-6-3 against the Pacific Division since the beginning of last season, including a 3-0-2 record in their last five games. The Sabres and Flames have had five of their last seven games decided by an overtime goal, including each of the last three meetings in Calgary. With a Sabres win tonight, Buffalo and Calgary will have split their season series for six consecutive seasons. Jack Eichel enters today's game on a 10-game point streak that began on Nov. 16. He has recorded 19 points (9+10) during the league's longest active streak. Eichel has recorded at least one assist in each of the last eight games. With an assist tonight, he'd tie the longest assist streak of his career, set from Feb. 14 to March 4, 2017. This is the second of two meetings between the Sabres and Flames this season. Last meeting: Calgary defeated Buffalo 3-2 (OT) in Buffalo on Nov. 27 The Sabres are 4-3-3 in their last 10 games vs. the Flames; 3-6-1 on the road. Rasmus Ristolainen (1+2) and Brandon Montour (0+3) each enter the game with points in three straight contests. With points tonight, Montour would tie his longest career point streak, set from Nov. 18 to 25, 2018 (1+5), and Ristolainen would set a new season best. Victor Olofsson has recorded points in 11 of his last 13 games (5+7).
  17. Had to look it up lol. Yes, the Sabres used to use it. Meh. I find that song (or the portion they used) no better, no worse than the current one. They are both blah IMO.
  18. They are keeping Hutton this season. No need to trade him now. He’s on a very very friendly contract. Is there another goaltending duo cheaper than the Sabres? How about a team with a cheaper duo that has a record “as good as” or better than the Sabres?
  19. I know. That’s what I said. It’s for WBEN. As a comparison to WGR. I just posted it just so we can compare the two Buffalo stations. That’s all. ??
  20. Now compare that to WBEN 930 day ... https://radio-locator.com/cgi-bin/pat?call=WBEN&service=AM&h=D night ... https://radio-locator.com/cgi-bin/pat?call=WBEN&service=AM&h=N interesting difference ...
  21. You lost me there ... I’m not following.
  22. Stuck? No. He can be called up to Roch. This may be an unpopular opinion but I wouldn’t call him up to Buffalo until next season at the very least. Let him gain experience and confidence all season in the lower leagues. Next season he’s the full time starter for Roch. with a couple call ups to Buffalo. In 21-22, he backs up Ullmark. After that ... we’ll see where he’s at.
