He absolutely has the talent to succeed as a pro. It’s up to him to be a successful AHLer or an NHLer. Hopefully he’ll get the support and experience to grab that success. It may take him several games in the AHL to get him going, but I’m confident he’ll get his mojo and do well.

I hope the AHL helps him develop into being close (key word) to what he was originally projected to be.. it just may take 3-4 more years. Projection and Comparison Mittelstadt has the potential to be a top line centre in the NHL. He has some areas to work on but he has the skillset to lead a team, if he develops properly. There are some questions, generally about the level of competition he has faced to this point in his career, and how his game will translate at the next level. In terms of a comparison, he plays a similar style to Tyler Seguin. This is a stylistic comparison only though, and not an indication of talent level.

EDIT Bogosian Requests Trade, Now EROD wants One As Well
Zamboni replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
I could see a GM valuing Bogo anywhere between a 4th round pick ... all the way up to a 3rd pairing Dman solid NHLer in trade. Given his age, injury history and the salary he’s most likely asking for .... he’s not worth anything significant. I wonder if a team would risk any longer than a 2 year deal on him when he does sign his next contract. Unless the price is very beneficial to the cap. -
I think it’s great they got 9 out of 10. Of course they’ll cool off a bit. Every season, even for teams that make the playoffs and even those that win the cup have peaks and valleys throughout the year. negative Nancy’s can hunt for the negatives and complain about the what if’s, and should haves... complaining, in a twisted way, makes them happy. I’m glad the Sabres have been trending in a positive direction. I hope that doesn’t take JB’s foot off the gas and he is still searching for troops to better the roster.

Who is the better hockey player, Matthews or Eichel?
Zamboni replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
I think this is a poor question to ask any Sabres or Leafs fan. Ask the other 29 markets fan bases. -
ideally in a perfect world ... 4th line ... 10-12% of the cap 3rd line ... 15-17% of the cap 2nd line ... 22-24% of the cap 1st line ... 28-30% of the cap goalies ... 15-17% of the cap sonewhere in those ranges. 1st thru 3rd lines include dmen lines. edit: amended goalies %

Tyce and Tage?!?! How Terrrrrrific.

Oh you took most of those thoughts right from my mind haha. Or maybe it was Jack who hates ROR. ?

I feel bad for Thomas. Or anyone for that matter going thru that. It must be a waking nightmare.

And yet, like almost every “on pace for” comment fans make ... he won’t get close to that come April. I predict 85-95 points. Which would still be awesome!

Will Eichel crack the 100 point mark this season?
Zamboni replied to matter2003's topic in The Aud Club
Another option is ... between injuries and slumps, roster/line changes, he won’t reach 100. -
I don’t think Vesey views himself as equal to Girgs. I would guess that Vesey IS gonna ask and get “middle six” money in his next contract. If not by Sabres, then someone. If he was put long term on a line with Larsson and Okposo, especially after he signed a new contract, he would want to be traded.

Start going to one arena (of his favorite sport) every year. Going to see his favorite team if possible, in many different cities and arenas. Only downside is, it could get pretty darn expensive. If he likes the outdoors, take him On a camping trip to a national park. If he likes hockey, go to the hockey hall of fame in Toronto.

I’m not gonna ask you the why’s of cellphones and gaming systems. That’s your personal preference/parenting. What’s he into? Art, sports, science, reading, movies, clothes, electronics, toys?

Part of it is Ice time, part of it is coaching. Part of it is confidence. He’s looking better most nights for the past 15-20 games. -

Tonight at KeyBank Center, we're throwing it back to when the Sabres called Buffalo Memorial Auditorium home. It's Aud Night as Buffalo hosts the Nashville Predators. Faceoff is at 7 p.m. with pregame coverage on MSG starting at 6:30. For fans attending the game, they'll find a commemorative Aud Night T-shirt at their seat with the color representing one of the levels of The Aud. Nearly 20 alumni from the 1980s are in town as well. They'll meet fans in the 100 level and in the Seneca Sports Lounge before the game. Be in your seats by 6:55 as they'll be honored on the ice before a special video open plays. Before the game, the main Blue Zone Bar will host a happy hour with $5 Labatt drafts from 5 to 6:30 p.m. and live '80s music. The first 2,000 fans in attendance will also receive a special edition jersey koozie, courtesy of Labatt. All fans in attendance will find a T-shirt at their seat, and its color (red, blue, gold or orange) will correspond with a seating level of the Aud. The following alumni are scheduled to attend: Dave Andreychuk Adam Creighton Mike Foligno Mike Hartman Val James Uwe Krupp Kevin Maguire Phil Myre Wilf Paiement Brent Peterson Larry Playfair Daren Puppa Dave Schultz Dave Snuggerud John Tucker John Van Boxmeer The Sabres are 9-3-3 (.700) through their first 15 home games of the season, putting the team on pace to tie its ninth-best home record in a season. Buffalo has a plus-17 goal differential at home. Jack Eichel enters today's game on a career-best 14-game point streak that began on Nov. 16. He has 12 goals, 25 points and a plus-16 rating during the streak. Eichel's streak is the longest active point streak in the NHL and the second-longest streak in the league this season, one game shy of Patrick Kane's 15-game streak from Nov. 2 to 30 (11+13). The streak is the longest by a Sabre since Tim Connolly tallied points in 16 consecutive games from Dec. 23, 2009 to Jan. 25, 2010. Only four players in Sabres history have recorded a point streak of more than 14 games: Dave Andreychuk (2x), Tim Connolly, Rick Martin and Gilbert Perreault. Perreault holds Buffalo's franchise record with points in 18 consecutive games from Oct. 24 to Dec. 4, 1971 (10+21). -
But but but I thought the AHL doesn’t develop players. Or is it, the AHL isn’t a developmental league for the NHL. Or is it, it only counts if the player was drafted high (or is it low), but went to the AHL for “conditioning”. I’d hate to see Mitts go to Roch, but perhaps that is the right thing. He can safely go down without a waiver issue, right?

Aside from the Sabres memories ... As a kid and teenager ... Seeing Buffalo Stallions a few times. sitting in the oranges or standing room. walking the ramps. Going to an Ice show, and during the show, a sound baffle fell from the ceiling and landed on the ice. The skaters didn’t miss beat, grabbed it and skated around the ice for a couple moments with it like it was part of the act! Then pushed it into a corner out of the way and continued on. Every game, The guy at one of main entrances yelling “Peanuts, cracker jacks!”
