  1. It's a game night in Boston. Coming off a 3-0 loss to the Bruins at home on Saturday, the Sabres will look to split their home-and-home set with the Atlantic Division leaders tonight at TD Garden. Pregame coverage on MSG begins at 6:30, with puck drop scheduled for 7. The Sabres will be without Jeff Skinner, who is expected to miss three to four weeks after sustaining an upper-body injury on Friday. If Saturday's practice was any indication, that could mean we see some new-look forward lines. Johan Larsson skated with the team Saturday after missing the past three games with a lower-body injury. Sabres coach Ralph Krueger said his status for the game will be determined this morning. If Larsson does play, he could center a line with Marcus Johansson and Sam Reinhart. The Sabres used that look in practice, with Kyle Okposo then slotting in on the right wing alongside Victor Olofsson and Jack Eichel. The four lines were as follows: 68 Victor Olofsson - 9 Jack Eichel - 21 Kyle Okposo 90 Marcus Johansson - 22 Johan Larsson - 23 Sam Reinhart 28 Zemgus Girgensons - 27 Curtis Lazar - 71 Evan Rodrigues 43 Conor Sheary - 74 Rasmus Asplund- 13 Jimmy Vesey By splitting up the trio of Girgensons, Larsson, and Okposo, Krueger said he hopes to see their habits spread throughout the lineup. That line has been one of Buffalo's most consistent this season in terms of how they play within the team structure.
  2. Dahlin is a developing young Dman. He hasn’t plateaued. He hasn’t regressed. He’s also at the present moment, far away from personal “pat em on the back” awards given by the league. And I couldn’t care less if he ever wins one. I am way more invested/interested in Dahlin developing and making the team overall better. Awards chasing (importance) are for chumps in my opinion. I know some fans and some players put a ton of stock in award winning. I don’t.
  3. I know some think this way. I don’t think JB does.
  4. meh. Perhaps. I’d think they’d want a significant piece too. Like Skinner with 25-30% retained. And Risto. And to unload a cap dump on us. That’s the kind of major grab they’d be looking for IMO. Kane is Chicago’s Crosby. It would take a mountain to move him.
  5. I think the vast majority think this way. Only a few fans actually think Cozens will in fact be a viable option at center as a 19 year old green horn.
  6. No thanks. I don’t want him. He can stay in Chicago. Just because his mommy pushed him out in this geographical location, doesn’t make me want him any more. I know that’s weirdly important to some hockey fans. And I’m this hypothetical, Chicago would want a ton for him. Like more than what’s listed.
  7. Ok, whew.... just got done watching Rise of Skywalker. Wow, I liked it a lot! Nice ending to the storyline.
  8. I wouldn’t quit my job unless I had another job lined up. I wouldn’t merge into traffic unless I knew I could safely do it. I wouldn’t have non emergent surgery until I got a second opinion that agreed with the first opinion. I wouldn’t fire my hockey GM unless at the very least, I had a list of 3-5 candidates I felt could do a better job and wanted to interview. To the chagrin of a few fans, JB has his job 100% secure until at the very least April, and most likely into next season. Unless unless unless, he makes zero (nada, zilch, no) roster moves before April. Then I could see a case for him potentially (key word) getting sacked for doing nothing for an entire season. Of course fans are allowed to complain about the GM, coaches and players. But just like a roster, if you want someone traded or fired, you must think about who you want coming in to replace him. Saying “I don’t know” or “fire fire fire” solves nothing and adds nothing to a meaningful discussion about the logical direction of a teams staff (players, coaches, GM). My personal opinion is, I’d like to see JB stay with the team for the rest of this season, AND the next season. UNLESS he does absolutely nothing or next to nothing in regards to improving the NHL roster of the Sabres.
  9. Again, it’s not at all about whether he’s “failing”. It’s about if you want him fired, fine. Want him fired... Cool. Who would you like in his place that has a good chance to do better? Dont get me wrong, that’s not saying he’s the end all be all GM. I just think if he gets fired, a logical legitimate some semblance of a thought should be proposed as to what comes after said firing. Who gets hired? And not just spewing “fire fire fire” like a bevis and butthead cartoon. Have a plan for godsake. I don’t view that as a crazy off the wall way to think. Firing without a list of potential replacements, is. It just rings hollow. Shortsighted.
  10. Of course you’re not obligated. And I’m not obligated to take the requests for JB getting fired seriously since it hasn’t been thought through past the “but but but I just want him fired” phase. And no, he certainly isn’t Irreplaceable. It just rings hollow. Yelling at clouds.
  11. Ok you are obviously entitled to your opinion. my take ... For what Erhoff did prior to becoming a Sabre, his contract was understandable. He was at the time of the trade, one of the if not, THE top guy to grab. And for a 4th round pick.. He was a solid point producing Dman for a few years leading up to the Sabres acquiring him. Contract at the time was not terrible.
  12. Huh? not talking hockey presidents. I specifically said JB. I know that posters on here and other forums are not “casual average” hockey fans. I give posters on most forums, more credit than that. And yes, most posters should know an answer to the potential replacements for JB, IF they want him fired right now, today. Spewing hatred for the man (firing) without listing his replacement is a rather weak argument that holds no water. At all. It’s just spouting to spout without a logical well thought out answer. It just rings hollow. List his replacement!
  13. Probably shoulder ... Hey, maybe this will light a fire under JB a little more to replace a top six winger. But now it’s a position of weakness and he may not get fair value/worth for what he may get.
  14. Not even close. Ville Leino was much worse.
  15. Now make up the D and goalies. Now ... Does that team realistically fit under the cap?
  16. Exactly. no need for the dramatics and made up stories of being torn away from his poor family and forced to spend Christmas In a hotel room watching The Christmas Story on repeat all day while eating stale Christmas cookies out of a box and crying into the box of rough tissues from the bathroom while his kids and wife FaceTime him showing him play by play of all the presents they got. (the preceding was a dramatic reenactment for effect and not based in any true reality whatsoever)
  17. Oh I’m certainly not getting my hopes up other than hoping he starts playing better in the AHL. Small expectations.
  18. So some fans want to fire JB now. Like right this very moment ... Instead of spewing your wishes of just half of the move, complete your thought of who exactly will replace him. I bet half the “fire JB” crowd all of a sudden, fall silent and don’t have a logical answer. And a strawman answer like ... “replace JB with anyone” is a weak one IMO. So what does that say?
  19. Good to hear/read reports that Mitts was much better this game. Instead of things like “he’s awful”.
  20. Yep. That’s what it looked like
  21. Ugly hockey right now. For both teams.
  22. Had Almond Milk Eggnog instead of the regular dairy based type. Pretty good!
  23. I always wonder if a team does well. Until Ray tells me the team did a good job after most periods. Now .... I’m lost without him ?
  24. Yea!!!! RJ is back baby!
