  1. I think it’s talked about every day, if not every game ... at least.
  2. Almost The entire team looks that way... tonight. I give a big big pass to Frolik for a few games.
  3. Obvious Prediction .... Ray ... “a very good period ....”
  4. Is this kind of conversation appropriate for a GDT thread? It will derail it. We both know this. So let’s not ??
  5. THE best? Yes, you’d be wrong. One of the best? .... yes, he is that.
  6. Nice tip pass by Reinhart there and drawing two Blues to the net with him . Beauty goal by Eichel into traffic
  7. You can’t be surprised at that sentence, at this point ?
  8. Yep. Plus, when that term “tank” is thrown around by some fans, I don’t think they fully grasp what that really is. Losing and bottoming out, just means your team sucks. Tanking is stripping your team of almost every good player so it’s almost a given the team will bottom out so it can draft 1 or 2. And to acquire many draft picks. so bu-bye to Eichel and Dahlin. Those two will get us many draft picks. Bu-bye Reinhart and Skinner. Those two will ge t us many draft picks. Bu-bye Joker, Risto, and Olofsson. We could trade those for a bunch of AHLers to fill the lineup like Sabres did 5-6 years ago. So then Johansson will be our number one center and have KO and Vesey on his wing as our top line. And we can look terrible almost every game as Ullmark gets shelled and lets in 4-6 goals a game... all because ... “tanking” was a good idea so we can draft a few 18 years old who most of them will need 3-5 years to develop. Fun plan! No, I think I’d rather fill in the holes when the opportunity presents itself and try to build around the good players who are already here. Yea, i’d rather build up rather than tear down and tank. Team isn’t THAT far away. At least that’s how I see it.
  9. I tend to agree here. It would be so cool to see Mitts in the playoffs helping the Amerks. Great for his development and experience. Sabres are in no NEED for Mitts for the next 4 months.
  10. I must have missed it... what number will Frolik wear? edit: just found it ... #67
  11. I’ll be optimistic ... 3-2 Sabres in regulation Frolik, Eichel, or Risto with a goal.
  12. Oh I get it... it’s just my thoughts on the issue. No big deal.
  13. I find it amusing that when trades actually do happen, some posters make a separate thread about the trade instead of posting it here, where it should be. IMO every “semi significant” (non Sabres) trade doesn’t need It’s own thread. Just post It in here and we can discuss it, in the trade thread. Oh well...
  14. It's a game night in St. Louis. Join us for the pregame show on MSG starting at 7:30. Faceoff is at 8 p.m. on MSG and WGR 550. It looks like Michael Frolik will make is Sabres debut. This is the second of two meetings between the Sabres and Blues this season. Last meeting: Buffalo defeated St. Louis 5-2 in Buffalo on Dec. 10, 2019 The Sabres are 3-5-2 in their last 10 games vs. the Blues; 1-5-4 on the road. After earning wins in the last two meetings between these teams, the Sabres are looking for their first win in St. Louis since Dec. 27, 2009. With a win tonight, the Sabres would have three straight wins against the Blues for the first time since Oct. 22, 1995 to Nov. 1, 1996.
  15. In the late 80’s and early 90’s I was in a couple punk/hardcore bands. I was heavy into that scene and had a general knowledge of the metal scene too. What high school?
  16. Yep. CC and Baphomet were neck and neck for a couple years in the Buffalo metal scene, then CC took off, and Baphomet plateaued. Then Baphomet had to change their name.
  17. Yea, I appreciate any updates too. I only get to watch 3 or 4 games a season so any news and videos are much appreciated. Glad that Mitts is continuing to hum along. Besides Mitts getting points, how has he looked the last 3 games? Rather pedestrian? Or engaged and one of the better forwards for most of the game?
  18. Went to Pittsburgh Saturday to see Motion City Soundtrack. Solid show. Semi intimate with 1,500 fans.
  19. Agree. I think Some fans confuse the words ... total and partial. Just like they confuse the terms of Tank and Rebuild. They like to use them interchangeably. Like regardless and irregardless. Or could care less and couldn’t care less. ? Like every team in the NHL, the Sabres are no different… They need to move pieces in and out to improve. And in my opinion starting with getting a solid #2 center. As nice as a fantasy story it may seem, Cozens won’t be the answer next season.
  20. I say… The tank worked beautifully… Sabres stripped the talent away, so they can acquire a top three pick. We got high draft picks for two years in a row. It’s the rebuild that has taken longer than expected. And some would say or call it “Failed“. Tank ... complete success Rebuild ... so far a failure.
  21. I’ve seen this claim before by other posters and other forums. And when it’s kindly pointed out that such claims of ineptitude or lack of success can’t be measured unless you do a “hit/miss” analysis with all teams so a comparison can be done ... there are crickets from the OP who made the claim in the first place. Is this one of those threads. Again? Because I’ll just counter and speculate that the Sabres are pretty average when “hitting” on players outside the 1st round. Hell, I’ll even claim outside the top 10. and what constitutes “hitting” on a player? I bet everyone has a different answer for that. And what constitutes “missing” on a player? I bet everyone has a different answer for that.
  22. JB and RK aren’t getting fired anytime soon. Full stop.
