Agree with this. I also think some have to try harder to get over the fact that he was drafted 2nd overall. How many times do we see “well he was drafted 2nd overall, he should be a game changer, a franchise player!” He’s not gonna be. Get over it already. Bloody hell. I think that elevated unrealistic expectation years and years removed from his draft, is what blurs people’s vision of not only Reinhart, but many players. I’m not reading anything embellished or inflated from those who like him as a player. I am however seeing hyperbole, Bloated expectations, and vast exaggerations when it comes to some (not all) of the negative or flaws in his game. Be accurate for gods sake.

There are facts and there are opinions who some are convinced they’re facts. I think the last few posts clearly showed that. Reinhart has some flaws. So does every player. Every. Player. The fact that some can see both flaws and assets is a good thing. A logical, even keeled thing. It’s as plain as day who can’t. I hope that changes for some fans. It would be nice.

Well, Reinhart doesn’t dipsy doodle, and do sick deeks and double Lutz so he’s obviously a worse player. And Sam should be pulled away from Eichel and put on a different line to see how good he is before signing him. You know, the same thing that they did to Skinner before signing him. Oh wait ...

When I see posters say he “skates slow” or “skates poorly”, I can’t help but think of this gif. Agenda gonna agenda. And deny gonna deny. No need to spit out the same takes and stats that show Reinhart is far from an issue or a problem. As others plainly laid out. What’s weird is how the mistakes are pointed out during games, but if he makes a great play, pass, goal etc ... it’s ignored by those same posters sometimes. It’s a shame really. Hmmm ... what would that action be called? I can’t quite think of the word. It’s on the tip of my tongue. ? He’s a quietly productive player. One of the if not the best passer on the team. And a smart team will sign him to a contract that gets him to 30. And like almost every contract signed nowadays, he’ll be overpaid. Some fans will hate it. And the criticism will reach a fever pitch for years and years. Because like most players, they never quite “earn” all those millions. Today’s NHL. And I’m certainly not saying he doesn’t make mistakes. But so does every player. It’s nothing unique or extreme in that regard. But, like you said, and I agree, you’d think it was and his talent is subpar.

I don’t buy that.... if Vegas killed the Sabres 5-0, I bet he would still have a job this morning. Granted, his firing may have been semi imminent, but if they won convincingly, Gallant would have another game at the very least. The firing in general is rather premature in my opinion.

Neither does saying Reinhart skates “slow”. But it doesn’t stop fans from spewing that nonsense. It’s like fans want to only compare the speed of a skater to the fastest one on the team. And call others slow. It’s a very shallow in a vacuum observation. Their opinion is so 2015. If one wants to just take into account straight line point A to point B skating, then Reinhart is average. However, His edge work is good. His positioning and where to be on the ice when he doesn’t have the puck is above average. That’s all part of skating speed. Not just ZOMG he doesn’t blow the doors off like Eichel does so therefore he’s a slow skater. I personally don’t take a posters opinions about Reinhart seriously at all if one of the criticisms is “he’s a slow skater”. I find their viewing very “tunnel vision”. Other criticisms are semi accurate and understandable mostly.
