I completely respect your indecision of spending money next year. Absolutely. I’m a Sabres STH. So I get it. THAT dilemma in no way, will or should affect how the Sabres treat and develop UPL next season. What’s best for him, and his development will be the decision. Regardless of if you or 5,000 fans decide to not spend a dime and one min in that arena to watch the Amerks. He will develop at a pace (a good pace hopefully) with or without fans in seats.

He’ll catch on to another team. I think he has two maybe three years left before he’s useless as an NHLer. Some can be mean and hard on him all they want. He’ll get an opportunity on an NHL team. I have no doubt. But, frankly, I’m glad it won’t be with the Sabres... whew!

So in reality, the overall point of this thread. The point that the Sabres have drafted miserably in the 1st round in recent years, (when compared with all the other teams in the league) is rather middle of the pack. And therefore not really a failure at all. And “set us back” is an opinion in a vacuum without looking at the league and how many “hits” other teams have in the first round in recent years. And “hits” is subjective and open to interpretation.
