See I don’t know… Some fans would think that it’s more important to rely on how a player makes you feel or eye tests rather than data.

I would say the only tweak I would like to see is, any “emergency” goalie isn’t employed by a team or associates of a team. And isn’t a fan of either team that’s playing that he’s there for in an emergency capacity. And has at least some college or minor league experience. Other than that, I couldn’t care less if he was a pro or amateur years ago, or if he’s 21 years old or 45 years old. It happens so rarely there really isn’t a need to reinvent the wheel here.

Oh correct me here .... I thought he was a Toronto Marlies Zamboni driver and maintenance man. Marlies Is owned by MLSE. Which also owns Toronto Maple Leafs. He’s a life long Leafs fan. Is any of that incorrect?

I’m very allergic to paying stupid money to goaltenders ... but Holtby intrigues me. I wouldn’t mind taking a stab at Greiss and Markstrom.

Um no .... it’s just a fun/interesting exercise to see if anyone has a good handle on who is out there. Realistically.... You can avoid the topic if you don’t know any names. No worries. I don’t know many either. I don’t follow too many GMs or their assistants. I was genuinely curious as to who is out there. No gotcha games. Don’t assume I have a point I didn’t type please. I typed what I meant.... so far Dudley, Shero, and Bergevin... no other names?

If the plan is “unrealistic expectations”, then I’d rather give him a different nickname ?

After you get past saying you just want JB fired. After you get past saying “I don’t know, anyone would be better”. After you get past the understandable frustration of wanting him fired ... What realistic, logical solution would you recommend to the Pegulas? I know some will make jokes and rage against JB and/or Pegulas .... so after you get it out of your system, can you name some GM candidates that are semi realistic choices? It would be interesting what real possibilities you think are out there. If anyone can actually supply names. I personally don’t want a GM where the game has passed them by and are a retread who’s peak was in 1985. I also don’t want a GM with little to no experience as a GM. But that’s just me. Sabres fans ... Names Names! I want names! ??

People simply can’t talk about that without mixing in political jabs. Maybe you can start a thread about the virus in the political thread. That way when it inevitably becomes an echo chamber of political jabs, it won’t be closed down ?? now onto the topic of this thread ... I hope Skinner gets going. Especially with Eichel playing at less than 100%.

Yes, a lot of those seats are paid for and there’s no rear end in those seats. Actual “walk up” sales to games (when you see a lot of empty seats) are probably in the 100-200 range. It’s putrid. As far as Florida, I don’t know the amount of season ticket holders without calling their account services dept. but I would guess it’s 7 - 9,000. Again, putrid. And I don’t know how the owners can afford that much of a hit either. And it’s been bad for a long long time.

Yes. There is an actual cap of the amount of season tickets available. Its somewhere in the 15,500 neighborhood. It’s been maxed out for several years. Hence there is, (and I called a few months ago to verify, unlike some fans who just want to assume or guess) a waiting list. And it’s around 1,600 deep. Every year most of those on the list are offered tickets. But not all take them for mostly financial reasons or location of seats reasons. I’m sure some don’t take the offer also because the team has been poor. But those who don’t purchase season tickets are offered to stay on the list for next season. so as much as it would be a cute idea to think that a ton of season-ticket holder’s would cancel their tickets… It’s just not the case year after year after year that just doesn’t happen if you do cancel, then those few are snatched right up by those that are on the waiting list. As much as it might infuriate some people, that’s just the way it goes year after year after year. ive been a STH for 16 years. And I ask questions and inquire about various things quite often, including but not limited to seat availability, waiting lists etc ... and actual attendance of individual games has little to do with season tickets sold, or waiting lists. Two different points really. A good chunk of STH’s either can’t sell or even give away their tickets, and they don’t want to be bothered going to games that are most likely gonna end up in a poor performance or worse. So they “eat” those tickets. Hence the poor attendance a lot of games. Those 15,500 tickets (or more) are still sold.
