Unless I’m mistaken, Adelphia (And Empire by extension) no longer had the rights to broadcast Sabres games , as of the end of the 2004-2005 season. So what you are saying is, after that season, the NHL (who owned the Sabres then, right?) authorized MSG to broadcast the games come October of 2005-2006 season? And then the actual long term contract with MSG started at some point in 2006? Don’t guess on this. I’m genuinely curious as to the timeline and structure of broadcasting rights etc... in that timeframe after Adelphia was out. If you can find links that help with the timeline and details, please provide them. It would be an interesting read. To me at least lol.

Someone who is on the downside of his career but is still productive enough to be a good short term 2C. He’s played both C and RW. Better than any center the Sabres have besides Eichel. That could then allow Cozens and Mitts to develop in a better environment. And I don’t think he’d cost a ton in assets. Brian Little.

I also think Mitts stays in Roch. to start the year. BUT if he looks really good and is consistently good, I can see him getting called up to Buffalo and staying up after Christmas. Especially if he’s markedly improved while with Buffalo. I hope for his sake, that’s the case. If he struggles all season in Roch. then after the season, I’ll start to consider moving on from Mitts. But I want to give a 21-22 year old, another full (20-21) season to see if he can figure things out. It would be such a bonus if he does.
