  1. Interesting article about an FDA approved at home COVID-19 test ... https://www.health.com/condition/infectious-diseases/coronavirus/ellume-at-home-covid-19-test-fda-approved
  2. Yea I don’t have an educated (from experience) answer for you because I’m in WNY. And I cut the cord with Spectrum Cable several months ago with Fubo thru a Roku device. And had MSG-B in the package. Then three months after I dropped Spectrum, they mail me a “streaming deal” that was way way cheaper than when I had the cable boxes. And cheaper than Fubo. So since I was already streaming Fubo,, it was an easy switch to stream Spectrum thru Roku. So, since September I’ve been streaming Spectrum. And if next August they tell me their rates are going to skyrocket after their “deal” is up, I’ll switch back to Fubo if it’s cheaper. I don’t know if that story helps you, but it may help someone else reading this.
  3. I find that so odd. I mean it would be interesting to know where the mistake happened. Computer error? Human input error? What? I know Buffalo General got some. Roswell got some.
  4. It had always been the plan to distribute only 2.9 million of the 6.4 million doses produced in a first wave, the officials said. To help make it more manageable for distribution by governors of each state.
  5. They said the government had changed the delivery schedule of the vaccine so states weren't getting all of their allotment at once, at the request of governors, who hoped spaced-out deliveries would be more manageable. "They will get their weekly allocation, it just won't come to them on one day," one official told the AP.
  6. Woah! Jaromir Jagr ... https://www.menshealth.com/fitness/a35002317/jaromir-jagr-still-playing-hockey-age-48/
  7. Are you in the WNY area?
  8. Amherst only received about 2” today.
  9. Are “political opinion” posts being deleted or just moved to the political forum? Because I thought they were just being moved to the appropriate forum if they start to slant to political opinion commentary. If they are flat out being deleted, that’s pretty unfortunate. But if you can find the political opinion commentary in a designated political thread, then I don’t see a problem with that. It’s not stifling speech, it’s just being moved to a more fitting place. Maybe it would be better… For a mod to edit out any political commentary that might be intermixed with valid information about Covid 19. Have the COVID-19 commentary, opinions, and facts stay, and have any (can’t help themselves) jabs at political figures be deleted. At least that’s how I mod. Just a thought...
  10. Before posting a rumor or speculation… See if a credible long-standing writer, reporter, journalist, or blogger is saying the same rumor or speculation. If the answer is no then don’t post that garbage in a thread. I don’t know maybe it’s just me but I find that rule pretty simple to follow.
  11. I can see Skinner getting to 30-32 goals. I personally don’t see him getting to 40. I can see Ullmark getting the majority of starts. And Hutton being a .500 backup. I can see Hall getting 35-45 goals. 80- 90 points. I can see Staal getting 55-65 points. I can see Eichel getting roughly the same points at 85-95 points. When I take into considerations of hot streaks, cold streaks, injuries and chemistry issues. Line juggling, slow starts, not playing a full 60 mins etc ... That’s roughly what I expect. Of course I hope for more from all.
  12. I clicked into the thread. Didn’t click the video. And ...
  13. So far so good as far as the number of serious reactions to the shot. Only a few so far. Fingers crossed.
  14. Yea, the vaccine getting out there is such a welcome sight! 👍🏼
  15. Meh ... what’s the diff yo! 😂
  16. Amazing ...
  17. As anyone with eyes could see, for the 6th and 7th round, the Buffalo Sabres did no worse, and no better than the vast vast majority of teams. So they didn’t “under perform” or "over perform" compared to almost every team. Who’s had NHL time? So i took a 10 year sample. From 2008 - 2017. In my opinion it’s too soon to judge anyone drafted in the 5th round in 2018 or more recently to determine if a team drafted well in the 5th. If you disagree, then post the more recent years if you want. I added the Buffalo picks (if there are any) just to see the names. And yes, i am well aware that this round is pretty much a crap shoot, but i think there’s no harm in giving a little credit to the teams. 2008 Draft Pick number/Drafting Team/Player/Position/NHL games played/Goals/Assists/Points/PIM’s/Last NHL season 122 Tampa Bay Dustin Tokarski G 34 0 2 2 2 2016-17 123 Los Angeles Andrei Loktionov C 155 22 26 48 22 2013-14 126 NY Islanders Kevin Poulin G 50 0 1 1 0 2014-15 127 Columbus Matt Calvert L 548 95 105 200 370 2019-20 128 Toronto Greg Pateryn D 267 4 35 39 162 2019-20 133 Edmonton Philippe Cornet L 2 0 1 1 0 2011-12 134 Buffalo Jacob Lagace L 135 Columbus Tomas Kubalik R 12 1 3 4 6 2011-12 137 Columbus Brent Regner D 7 0 0 0 4 2015-16 139 Ottawa Mark Borowiecki D 375 15 36 51 647 2019-20 140 Colorado Mark Olver C 74 10 12 22 39 2012-13 148 NY Islanders Matt Martin L 692 61 70 131 946 2019-20 149 Dallas Philip Larsen D 151 9 28 37 46 2016-17 150 Pittsburgh Alexander Pechurskiy G 1 0 0 0 0 2009-10 —————————————————————————— 2009 Draft Pick number/Drafting Team/Player/Position/NHL games played/Goals/Assists/Points/PIM’s/Last NHL season 122 NY Islanders Anton Klementyev D 1 0 0 0 0 2009-10 127 NY Rangers Roman Horak C 84 6 13 19 16 2013-14 129 Dallas Tomas Vincour R 95 7 10 17 12 2014-15 130 Ottawa Mike Hoffman L 493 172 187 359 177 2019-20 132 Nashville Gabriel Bourque L 413 40 63 103 75 2019-20 134 Buffalo Mark Adams D 135 Florida Corban Knight C 52 4 8 12 4 2018-19 138 Florida Wade Megan C 15 1 1 2 2 2018-19 139 Montreal Gabriel Dumont C 90 4 5 9 48 2019-20 147 San Jose Philip Varone C 97 8 9 17 26 2018-19 149 Chicago Marcus Kruger C 520 38 85 123 234 2018-19 150 Detroit Nick Jensen D 278 6 50 56 73 2019-20 ————————————————————————— 2010 Draft Pick number/Drafting Team/Player/Position/NHL games played/Goals/Assists/Points/PIM’s/Last NHL season 121 Edmonton Tyler Bunz G 1 0 0 0 0 2014-15 122 Anaheim Chris Wagner R 317 35 23 58 171 2019-20 123 Florida Zach Hyman L 302 71 81 152 173 2019-20 129 San Jose Freddie Hamilton C 75 4 2 6 12 2017-18 131 Dallas John Klingberg D 425 58 233 291 156 2019-20 132 Anaheim Tim Heed D 105 6 23 29 20 2019-20 133 Calgary Micheal Ferland L 335 60 74 134 200 2019-20 135 Boston Justin Florek F 4 1 1 2 0 2013-14 138 Phoenix Louis Domingue G 139 0 2 2 6 2019-20 140 Pittsburgh Kenny Agostino L 85 8 22 30 40 2018-19 141 Detroit Petr Mrazek G 263 0 3 3 14 2019-20 143 Buffalo Gregg Sutch R 144 Toronto Sam Carrick C 34 2 3 5 15 2019-20 147 Montreal Brendan Gallagher R 547 173 161 334 312 2019-20 148 Los Angeles Kevin Gravel D 109 1 12 13 12 2019-20 —————————————————————————— 2011 Draft Pick number/Drafting Team/Player/Position/NHL games played/Goals/Assists/Points/PIM’s/Last NHL season 125 NY Islanders John Persson L 10 1 0 1 6 2013-14 126 Ottawa Fredrik Claesson D 155 7 21 28 50 2019-20 129 New Jersey Blake Pietila L 38 1 3 4 12 2018-19 131 Minnesota Nick Seeler D 105 2 10 12 100 2019-20 133 San Jose Sean Kuraly C 223 20 39 59 114 2019-20 137 Buffalo Alex Lepkowski D 138 Montreal Darren Dietz D 13 1 4 5 13 2015-16 139 Chicago Andrew Shaw R 530 114 129 243 567 2019-20 143 Anaheim Max Friberg L 6 0 0 0 2 2015-16 144 Pittsburgh Dominik Uher C 2 0 0 0 0 2014-15 148 Tampa Bay Nikita Nesterov D 132 9 24 33 81 2016-17 150 Vancouver Frankie Corrado D 76 3 5 8 40 2017-18 151 Boston Rob O'Gara D 33 0 3 3 6 2017-18 —————————————————————- 2012 Draft Pick number/Drafting Team/Player/Position/NHL games played/Goals/Assists/Points/PIM’s/Last NHL season 122 Montreal Charles Hudon L 125 14 27 41 56 2019-20 126 Toronto Dominic Toninato C 85 5 9 14 49 2019-20 129 Carolina Brendan Woods C 7 0 0 0 7 2015-16 130 Winnipeg Connor Hellebuyck G 270 0 7 7 4 2019-20 131 Boston Seth Griffith C 79 8 11 19 24 2017-18 133 Buffalo Logan Nelson C 137 Washington Connor Carrick D 230 12 35 47 152 2019-20 138 San Jose Danny O'Regan C 25 1 4 5 2 2018-19 147 Vancouver Ben Hutton D 341 15 71 86 125 2019-20 150 New Jersey Alexander Kerfoot C 222 43 70 113 98 2019-20 151 Los Angeles Colin Miller D 301 23 87 110 213 2019-20 ———————————————————————————- 2013 Draft Pick number/Drafting Team/Player/Position/NHL games played/Goals/Assists/Points/PIM’s/Last NHL season 123 Colorado Will Butcher D 215 13 82 95 32 2019-20 124 Tampa Bay Kristers Gudlevskis G 3 0 0 0 0 2016-17 125 Nashville Saku Maenalanen R 34 4 4 8 20 2018-19 127 Winnipeg Tucker Poolman D 81 5 13 18 24 2019-20 129 Buffalo Cal Petersen G 19 0 0 0 0 2019-20 130 Buffalo Gustav Possler R 133 Phoenix Connor Clifton D 50 2 1 3 27 2019-20 134 Chicago Luke Johnson C 18 0 1 1 8 2019-20 137 Minnesota Carson Soucy D 58 7 7 14 20 2019-20 143 Buffalo Anthony Florentino D 148 Los Angeles Jonny Brodzinski C 57 6 6 12 10 2019-20 ——————————————————————————- 2014 Draft Pick number/Drafting Team/Player/Position/NHL games played/Goals/Assists/Points/PIM’s/Last NHL season 121 Buffalo Max Willman L 126 Vancouver Gustav Forsling D 122 8 19 27 42 2018-19 127 Carolina Clark Bishop C 25 1 3 4 10 2019-20 129 Winnipeg C.J. Of course it t would have been nice to grab one or two gems. Some teams grabbed a gem or two in this 10 year span. Ottawa overall, did pretty well in this 10 year period.
  18. I agree. But it’s psychology. Some people are more susceptible to advertisements on TV, on billboards, in Movies, on actors/actresses, in sports arenas etc ... And some aren’t nearly that susceptible to the fish/hook routine. Ads aren’t made for those people. I can’t say I’m impervious to marketing campaigns. But after the age of child toy commercials while watching Tom and jerry or Heckle and Jeckle, I’ve felt most marketing campaigns don’t make me want to go out and buy a product. Now excuse me while I go look at Audi’s, Geico insurance rates, and Locate the nearest Burger King...
  19. I’ll predict that if they allow advertising on helmets, within 5 years you’ll see jerseys and/or the face off circles will be completely filled in with ads. I mean it has been heading that way anyway for many years already. Seems like every other year they come up with a new way to advertise on the ice or within the game.
  20. From my observations ... 99.5% of the people I see at stores and in the general public space are wearing masks over mouth and nose. Only time I really see people not wearing masks is if they are going for a walk/run outside around the neighborhood and staying very far away from others. That’s my daily practice as well. Along with hand sanitizing, and washing hands. Some people may be doing overkill, some people may be doing underkill, but by and large I see almost everybody complying to a greater degree.
  21. As long as they can safely play a sport and have some semblance of a decent length season, with few to no Covid cases, I’m all for playing. At this point I couldn’t care less who’s in the division or what teams the Sabres will be playing. Do it smartly, safely, and drop the puck!
  22. My low expectation level for Cozens is that he makes the team. Stays healthy. That he isn’t a liability on the Ice too often. That he shows improvement in all aspects over the course of 56 games or whatever the season is. I don’t need him to be in the top six. I don’t need him to get 35-40 points in the shortened regular season. As a rookie, I don’t need him to “wow me” with sick mitts and highlight reel goals or plays. If he does ... well, that’s a bonus. As a sophomore, I’ll hope he builds on a good solid rookie campaign.
  23. Like I’m sure many, Once the vaccine rolls around to the “average joe”, will be nervous and apprehensive about taking it. Some won’t. Most will. I thought I read one of the vaccines were made back in January, and have been in trials for over 10 months. Not sure which one. I thought that was interesting... I’m not saying or telegraphing a position one way or another. I just found that interesting. Personally, for me and me only ... I’ll have to think about getting the vaccine. Again, “thinking about it” doesn’t mean I lean one way or the other.
  24. Meh ... 😂
