And let’s not forget the phrase I see used incorrectly here and other places often.... I could care less I couldn’t care less 😂 “I could care less if RK keeps his job.” ... So you’re telling me there is yet another level of not caring you haven’t reached yet? 😂

GDT: 3/6/21 Sabres @ Islanders 12:30 p.m. MSG
Zamboni replied to Claude Balls's topic in The Aud Club
I’ll listen while I’m renovating my rental. I’ll go optimistic today ... the KA press conference will light a fire under the team. Enough to squeeeeeeze out a win. Sabres ... 4 Isles ... 3 Eichel, Skinner, or Dahlin with a goal -
Both of them have been terrible for years… many Years. But a chunk of the local sports fan doesn’t know any better because by and large they don’t listen to National sports broadcasts discussing hockey. Because if they’re not talking about their coveted favorite local sports team… They are not interested in hearing that program. So they have nothing to compare what good sports radio is. So some fans, not all… Think that those two clowns are very good at their jobs. Fact is they actually really really suck at their jobs… But because they have the ratings in the small little tiny itty-bitty buffalo market, because they talk about Buffalo sports teams… They get to keep their jobs. That happens in a lot of smaller markets… Not just Buffalo.

He was actually more candid than I thought he’d be. But also pretty on par with any and every GM press conference. I feel bad for the fans who actually wanted this to happen and expected more. Too high of expectations or maybe unrealistic IMO.

I’m not arguing anything. At all. My belief is my belief only. Others can have theirs. Darcy starting and Tim continuing to dismantle the team and stock it with mostly AHLers/4th liners so we can try to get a top draft pick was a great idea. And to acquire Reinhart and Eichel. I believe that action was successful. Me and me only. Not arguing anything. At all. What followed the drafting of Eichel, was a failure and the Sabres continue to struggle and suck. And it seems more and more that it’s due to ownership and very poor hires. And to an extent the roster. It’s what I believe. Me only. Not arguing. At all. Others can have their take. That’s cool. Won’t change my mind or argue against their opinion.👍🏼

Oh Captain My Captain: Former Sabres weigh in on this disaster
Zamboni replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
Yea I can see that. But points are only part of it.... effort level and “giving a crap” is even more important. And as you know most are playing like they just don’t care 😕 -
Oh Captain My Captain: Former Sabres weigh in on this disaster
Zamboni replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
Well I agree there, but it extends (if the captain isn’t a good leader) to vets, and alternates. KO, Reinhart, Staal, Miller, Risto, Hutton, McCabe, Skinner, even Montour. It’s a pervasive disease in that locker room. -
See, I wouldn’t say they really fully tanked. Maybe they did, At least not to the crazy depths the Sabres did 😂
-
Oh well... it’s what I think. Too bad. I won’t convince you otherwise and visa versa. All good....

Oh Captain My Captain: Former Sabres weigh in on this disaster
Zamboni replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
Yikes ... so sad to hear this ... from a fans POV. Glad some things are being brought out in the open for all to see ... from a fans POV. Maybe change will follow. Hopefully good change. -
The tank was a great idea. Executed poorly. There is a distinct and clear difference between the tank being good/bad to do. And the execution of the tank being good/bad. Some fans can’t seem to quite grasp and separate the two main stages of tanking.

I don’t mind Miller. As long as he doesn’t overprice himself... He’s rarely talked about. That’s a good thing. He goes out and does his job quietly most nights. He has a heavy accurate (on net) shot. I’d hang on to Miller. For me, Montour can go. Borgen is ready willing and able.

Maybe they did but didn’t broadcast it, Telegraph it, share it, tweet it. Etc ...

I feel the same way about a few of those names. The ones with little to no experience.

Grab him for Roch. and Roch. only
-
Do they usually dip into rumors? I mean more than a “hey saw this from a person on Twitter!”
-
Rumor. Ok. Looking forward to be becoming more than a “rumor/speculation/whispered in an ear” situation. Maybe have, oh I don’t know ... a person/company with hockey business success to some degree “help” run the franchise. Maybe they are just looking for a POHO position to be filled.

Mark Wahlberg Mike Wallace Micheal Williams But we all know it’s most likely gonna be Mr. Bungle.
-
That’s funny. I was really saying ONE of Eichel, Skinner or Dahlin with the lone goal. 😂
-
Have to you go pessimistic ... Isles ... 3 Sabres ... 1 Eichel, Skinner or Dahlin with a goal
-
Sure add Babcock. Why do you want him?
-
If you HAD to chose one of Boudreau, Gallant, or Julien to replace RK ... who would you logically choose? And Why? Sell the rest of us on why your choice is best. Mods, if this deserves its own thread, feel free to move it.

Cracked rib(s) take a long long time to fully heal. I’ve known a couple people who still felt discomfort in the healed rib area 4, 5, 6 months later.

So ... I’m just throwing it out there ... collectively we are to believe a report out of New York City… about Eichel. But not believe anything coming out of the Buffalo New York area. so is this a case of wanting to believe all negative, conspiracy theory, hiding injury type of situation? Meh ... In a way, I kind of don’t believe this report, just as much as I don’t believe a report coming out of RK’s lips. Frankly I don’t know what to believe. even from Eichel himself.

Because history has shown us that ownership and/or GM press conferences are chock full of good information, straight talk, 100% truths, and make fans feel all warm and comfortable like an old sweater. They leave no stone unturned, and answer every question so no one has any more doubts or skepticism about their ability to lead and fix any issues. Press conferences are a very useful tool to calm the clenched buttholes of restless fans.
