Some posts are being moved around to different threads here .... I did not post anything about Granato in the Sam Reinhart is a center thread. Anyways ... I like Reinhart as a center so far. Need to see more... hopefully I will. However, I like him as a winger too.

You really think he’s that good of a coach? wouldn’t he have already gotten his shot before he came to the Sabres if he was that good of a coach? A coach good enough to get them into the playoffs. I guess is what I mean. I guess I’m just not sold on the fact that if he was the coach all season long they would be in the playoffs. Instead of looking like an embarrassment every night and losing games. They would look a lot better as a team, but still lose the majority of their games. Maybe lose by a goal instead of 2 or 3 goals 😂 I’m just not entirely convinced of that yet. I think the team is responding to a different coach and different system and playing an underdog role knowing that there’s no expectations at this point because they’ve sucked so much. Less pressure overall. I wouldn’t mind keeping Granato around… But strictly an assistant role. I hope KA swings for the fences and brings in a much much better coach than Granato. Just my O.

I don’t necessarily think Ullmark all of a sudden has started playing better… I think it’s the team in front of him the past 4 games, that is starting to play better… And therefore making Ullmark look better. There’s a difference. I’d offer him at the very most 5 x 5. Preferably less. If he wants to be greedy and go after more… Then I’d let him walk. Good luck pal.

Top 5 Point leaders on the Sabres this season as of 4/2/2021 Reinhart 23 Olofsson 21 Hall 18 Eichel 18 Montour/Dahlin 12 At 36 games Hall has played, he’s producing at a .5 per game clip. Just not good enough. Even on a bad team like the Sabres.

@john wawrow Correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t there a story you were working on? You mentioned something “big” was gonna happen. I think you said that AFTER RK was fired. Did you ever share what it was you were working on/writing about? Sorry if I missed it.

It allllll depends on the ask. For me and me only ... If Ullmark demands north of 5 mil. Per ... I let him go... I’m just there yet, that he’s worth more than that. Plus I’m inherently allergic to dumping a lot of money into a goalie.

A lot of valid concerns why many feel Ullmark isn’t quite #1 material yet. And yet some supporters of throwing a truck of money at him is a risk worth taking, have good points too. I’d like to see him have one, just one full 82 game season where he plays 55-60 games. IF he has even league average numbers then ... ok, throw him a multi year contract in the 5-6 mil. A year range. Until then, I’d prefer the Sabres look elsewhere for a legit, #1. Or at the very least, a major upgrade over Hutton.

Or… Because he is a very good straw that stirs the drink on any top six and makes his teammates better. And because he’s one of the best if not the best passer on the team. And because almost every year he’s been in the league he’s increased his point totals.... you throw six years at $6.5 million at him and see what his camp says. there’s not a doubt in my mind that if he goes to another team he’ll get very close to that number. Give or take $500K. And it wouldn’t be an overpayment.

I don’t fume over losses I don’t get pissed over losses I have more important things in my life to worry about, and get mad about or upset about or be overly passionate about. The Sabres in 2021 is not one of them. I was slightly aggravated, or frustrated for about five minutes after the game. then I just let it roll off my back like all the other losses this season. I find the emotion of pure anger over the Sabres this season is a waste of my energy. The most I can muster up is aggravated or frustrated ... briefly 😂

It looked like a shoulder or arm injury. Not 100% on that.

I still think GM’s around the league, will look at the fact that the entire team was terrible all season… Not just Hall. They will also take into account Covid. it’s a safe bet that most GM’ will think he will return to be a pretty good player on the next team. I think the Sabres will get a 1st for Hall, or a pretty close equivalent with a player and a pick. nostalgia talking ... I mean if Paul Gaustad can return a 1st ... 😂
