  1. Maybe I’m alone in this opinion. And thats fine by me ... but I think Ryan Miller while he was a Sabre, was mostly an above average goalie, with one elite year. And it reminds me of how I view Hall now. That’s all.
  2. Sorta like Ryan Miller πŸ˜‚
  3. Yes he has shown he can man his post… For about 30 games or so. Before that… Not so much. At least that’s my opinion.
  4. Good for him. Honestly! i had I big rant going but it’s not worth my time.
  5. Um .... ooook. Everyone has an opinion I guess πŸ˜‚ Out of all the coaches, I liked Rolston the least. Didn’t care for his coaching ability.
  6. Hey I was just spitballing ... although we know Hall The way the Sabres know Hall. Perhaps New Jersey has a different feeling or impression or opinion of Hall. I mean he did have a pretty good time there. perhaps the management thinks they could re-capture that and rekindle that with Hall. again just spitballing an idea. Personally I don’t care one way or the other πŸ˜‚
  7. With those trades, Devils got worse this season. I wonder if they’re clearing space for a run at Hall. Sabres ... 4 Devils ... 2 Mitts, Skinner, or Risto with a goal
  8. Maybe this will help ... (Cupping hands around mouth like a megaphone) Kyle Okposo has a M-NTC ... https://www.capfriendly.com/players/kyle-okposo Between his bloated contract that no one will take on AND his NTC, AND his major injury history... he’s practically impossible to move. No, really... He is. Jeff Skinner has a NMC ... https://www.capfriendly.com/players/jeff-skinner Between his insane contract that no one will take on AND his NMC ... he’s impossible to move. Even if the Sabres retain 50%. He holds all the cards right now. Unless both players waive their Clauses, they are Sabres. The only semi silver cloud, is if the Sabres buy out KO after this season. https://www.capfriendly.com/buyout-calculator/kyle-okposo
  9. I think this is lost on a good portion of fans. The β€œhit” rate isn’t all that high. Hovering around 25%. That’s it. For 2nd rounders. now one can argue and bicker and differ about what β€œhit rate” means....
  10. I missed putting him in Bold. He was there. But thanks for pointing him out. Fixed it. πŸ‘πŸΌ
  11. If Dahlin is ruined. Truly, undoubtedly ruined.... he would not have had a game like tonight. Ever. He’s not ruined. He’s still developing. RK stunted him. Not ruined him.
  12. It's been awhile since i created the 3rd thru 7th round threads. Who’s had NHL time? So i took a 10 year sample. From 2009 - 2018. In my opinion it’s too soon to judge anyone drafted in the 2rd round in 2019 or more recently to determine if a team drafted well in the 2nd. If you disagree, then post the more recent years if you want. I added the Buffalo picks (if there are any) just to see the names. This is the round (along with the 1st) where teams really turn from a β€œhope” mentality, to expect their pick to make their NHL team at some point and do rather well. -------------------------- 2009 13. Ullmark will demand and get around 5 mil. per from someone. Will it be the Sabres? I also think he’ll push for more than a 3 year deal. More like 4 - 5 years. As long as the other goalie is as good or better than Ullmark, I couldn’t care less what the name on the back is. And as long as the contract isn’t stupid expensive.
  14. Every loss ... Beck - Loser
  15. I think whenever any Sabres score or if they ever win a game… Talking heads ... once in a lifetime or something with the chorus… β€œIt’s a miracle”.
  16. I think it’s just throwing the kid a bone to see if he can make the most of it. I’ll expect very little from him if he plays. Well, the only expectation would be to not look too out of place and to not drag his line down. We have enough underperforming veterans dragging down lines. We don’t need any help in that area πŸ˜‚ Low expectations. No disappointments.😬
  17. And then the logical, reality based answer to KO next season is ... ?
  18. Straw grasping .... obvious is obvious
  19. It also points to how impatient some (not all) fans are with development. I think sometimes they get caught up in ... β€œwell you were a first round pick, so you should be able to step right in and contribute at the start of the following season”. And then hate on the player, when those elevated and unrealistic expectations aren’t met. That broad brush of expectation rarely works. Is it really taking him longer to develop into an decent NHL player than the players in his draft year who were selected right around him? 2017 draft How is Cody Glass doing (6th pick)? How is Lias Andersson doing (7th pick)? How is Michael Rasmussen doing (9th pick)? How is Owen Tippett doing (10th pick)? I’m glad to see things seem to be clicking better for Casey. Hope he takes another small step in the coming months.

  22. I need to see more. Not 100% convinced he’s β€œarrived” long term yet. But in the very very short time span, he’s looking better overall. Keep it up Mitts!
  23. I think a bunch of Hockey fans do this exact thing with Dmen who β€œget physical”. Overrate their true value. Especially considering the way the NHL is today vs. the 70’s, 80’s, and early 90’s.
