Just asking here … honestly … What does Bader (or anyone for that matter) consider a “star”? Isn’t that a fluid interpretive term?
-
Agree. Talk about cherry picking to suit a bias… obvious is obvious. Next thing we’ll see it a montage of Reinhart falling and/or Marchand scoring goals with a halo over his ugly squash.
-
Paul Hamilton.. consider the source. Yawn …

people have their own little definition of what the tank is /was and what the rebuild is. You aren’t going to change their mind in how they define either. Even if you enjoy telling a person that they are wrong in their own definition or opinion of a tank or rebuild. And what player we got during a tank or rebuild portion of time. That to me, has been abundantly clear ever since we acquired Eichel.

Report Sabres preparing for An Additional Top Ten Pick
Zamboni replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
And a very very small handful of posters here as well. Blaming one or two individual players on the failure or success of a team sport is… shortsighted, illogical and in my opinion, ignorant. -
At this point… Anything is/was possible 😂
-
I am not denying he had power I guess I’m just saying and maybe I’m saying it poorly more than once… I don’t think he had ultimate veto power over what KA wanted. if for some reason KA did not want Hall under no circumstances. I don’t think Kruger would’ve had more say over KA as to what the roster is going to be. this is all a moot point really 😂
-
That is, IF the GM even wanted to pursue Hall. And Hall would not have been a Buffalo Sabre, unless KA agreed and pursued it. If Krueger wanted Hall, but for some reason KA disagreed… He wouldn’t have been here. Krueger may have had influence… But he didn’t have the ultimate say over KA. I can’t believe he had that much power.
-
And if Hall scored 30 goals this past season… He would not be among your list of “negative things“ KA has done. so don’t you think that maybe… Just maybe you’re blaming KA for Halls lack of production? And does it need to be reminded yet again… That Hall was the biggest… Yes the biggest UFA on the market when KA landed him. and sure you can be pessimistic and say well Hall only came the Buffalo because of Kruger. That very well may be true… Nevertheless KA is the GM… He is the one that targeted and landed him. He gets credit for that. Hall gets credit for being practically useless all season long. There was a big gaping hole at 2C. And even though I hate Staal with a passion, it was a reasonable, logical acquisition to get Staal to fill that hole. Could he have done better? Possibly. He also could’ve done a hell of a lot worse. The other points you made… I completely agree with. Especially the goaltending. KA dropped the ball to improve there.

I would do that as long as they added the enthusiasm of David Puddy.

I’d rather have that convo than the ignorant “Reinhart sucks because he falls down a lot, doesn’t check, and skates slow” tired rhetoric. Or overly stale no longer funny Tage is a giraffe posts. Yawn … 😂

Yep, I’m hearing Sam is tired of the losing. And will look to get out ASAP.

Did Gallant even want to be interviewed?

In the most unsurprising obvious hire ever ….

Soooo I’m reading …. “I don’t like what Tampa did so I declare it cheating” Buuut the league itself doesn’t view it as cheating, sooooo it obviously isn’t in their eyes. Too bad so sad. “But but but I declare it’s cheating so it is” (now I will close my eyes, and put my hands over my ears because I don’t want to see or hear any other facts about this issue). Tissues anyone? #iwouldntmindtheisleswinningtheseries

He’s no longer “healthy”. He’s from now on a player with a few injuries and one pretty serious that may require surgery at some point in the not too distant future. And that surgery could make Jack the player he was before the injury. Or …. Not even close. Massive risk at that price tag. Massive. Did I say massive? Can only hope some GM doesn’t view it as a massive risk and offers an impressive package for Eichel.

Remember when a handful of “vocal” posters or fans say stuff years ago, and yet it’s remembered as “every Sabre fan back then wanted or thought [insert lack of hindsight proclamation here]”

Very interesting that the OP hasn’t changed the title yet. I have a couple thoughts as to why … See how this plays out …

So, he had a nice year. Not mind blowing, but much better then anyone thought he’d have I would think … Did he EARN a multi-year deal? I’d commit to a 3 to 5 year deal on him. In the neighborhood of 2.5 to 3.5 mil. per. That way if he completely regresses it wouldn’t be another albatross of a contract.
