Been calling for changing Captains and Coaches in season, but on reflection don’t want Dahlin to be Captain until next season… He will put too much pressure on himself to try to push the team for a highly improbable playoff spot this year… Want him to get the C with a fresh start next year…

Look at the Shot patterns for both teams in the 2nd period… Tells the story.

What is unbelievable is Pegula deludes himself in believing he is the best person to lead hockey operations… KA and DG would be canned after this season by an experienced hockey executive… if the owner were serious about winning.

Sorry to say, think we will again fail to make the playoffs… Rivet and Peters agreed no team is going to trade the kind of vet we need to add experience and grit in season… Would have to offer a blockbuster package if we could even convince these type vets to come here at this point… So, the onus will be on Adams this season to get his NHL scouts to identify those available players and to prepare Pegula for the cost… so he can get deals done in the coming offseason… Then let Granato use the bulk of his training camp and preseason to integrate new vets and prepare his starters to begin winning Day One… No more late camp and preseason prospect tryouts… Enough amateur hour management.

Yep… Blown offseason… Blown preseason… All on KA and DG… Team needs a roster and coaching reset… Requires cajones KA likely doesn’t have… Expect another lost season… and more of the same next year if KA is still in charge.

Good post… Do like many of your ideas… Have to disagree with you about Power and Samuelson, though… Power has low compete and no grit… Not gonna change, imo… Samuelson is inconsistent and injury prone… Can only get worse… Trade both while their value is high… Would package them with a F prospect, and G prospect Cooley… in return for a legit NHL Goalie, a top 6 F, and proven top 4 D tandem… All with grit… All with playoff experience. Giving up a lot of promise… Getting a lot of today in return… Imagine it would take a 3 team, 3 GM deal… Get creative, Adams… It’s your job.

No point doing any deal now with the idea of making the playoffs… Team needs more than a few new players… Needs new Coaches… Needs a new Captain… Needs a new Nutrition and Training Staff… Needs a Team Shrink…
