Great question… One Adams might have considered more carefully after he blew up the roster he inherited… and assembled a group of too many single post adolescent boys-not-yet-men… experiencing the demands of life in the NHL for the first time… with limited life experience… and no spousal support… Makes for depressing off ice time when they hang together during losing streaks… Distracted??… They may be Twenty Something-Multi Millionaire professional athletes… but they are only human… We need more gritty veterans. Period.

Buffalo is a small city… whose residents are bound together by the weather… It is called the City of Good Neighbors for a reason… Folks help each other… Like the Bills, Sabres players do many seen and unseen community and school events and are loved for it… Happens in every city… but different in a small market.

Just for a handful of years… Then turn it over to Dahlin… We need to build a Core Leadership team.

At Thanksgiving, posted I was thankful Pegula bought the Sabres and kept the franchise in Buffalo… That Adams hired a coach like Granato to develop all the draft choices he was gifted from years of poor play… That players like Okposo chose to embrace the community… Got an eye roll… Despite the almost certain playoff failure again… Still feel grateful… Usually entertained and always hopeful… Next year.

Adams has been permitted by Pegula to create a players country club … It is a wonderful family atmosphere… The Okposo tribute video spoke volumes… Great place to work… Yet to see the ROI. Not sure we will with this roster… Have enough privileged young men… Need a Ruff-like coach and a few grown ass men in their prime to help these kids mature as players. Unlikely Adams sees it the same way.
