My point was we don’t have the roster to compete for a Cup even if we get a playoff spot. Not a chance in hell unless Adams brings in missing pieces. Otherwise, we will continue after 13 seasons to compete for a playoff slot instead of compete for a Cup.

Watching the losses to the Wild and Canucks at home after posting a 3 game win streak on the West Coast trip, think Adams needs to bring in a top Center and a forward, both under 30 with SC experience and term. Big ask, I understand, especially given likely NTC issues. Pegula would have to open his wallet. Ideally a couple hungry guys who were close to getting a Cup and who see the opportunity here for the next several seasons with the right pieces. He has several of his own pieces he can package to create interest. We simply don’t have the roster to compete with top teams should we get a playoff spot.

Couldn’t agree more. The league is onto his slapper act. Thompson needs to get to the slot to unleash his shot at the top of the circles or take it in close with deft moves to deke the goalie with a backhand or tap in. He needs to use his size, reach and stick more creatively.

Just listened to Ruff’s postgame comments. Our PP was 0-5. It was more than a little bit off, Lindy. Whoever is coaching and designing our PP is failing and needs to be replaced as the PP Coach. Ruff was asked about players getting to the paint and he implied it rotates and when it’s your turn you have to be there. You can’t miss your turn, he said. Ruff’s scheme stinks, imo. Guys can’t keep track of who’s turn it is apparently, so too often no one goes. No urgency in our game. No physicality in our game. Too much wondering about everything, and not enough Wonder and Awe about anything.

Damn Got outplayed in OT. Too friggin “patient.” Canucks, like the Wild, wanted it more than we did, in our own building, no less. Instead of sending our fans home with a win, we send them home with a loss. There is no redemption in losing. Ruff owns this loss. He didn’t get them motivated to play to win until the 3rd period. Then reverts to his “patient” game in OT. We didn’t even touch the puck until OT was half over. Didnt aggressively go after the puck. Stood around in reactive mode.

Agree. Have only missed a few games this year. You saw 5x5 jump. I didn’t until well into the third period. Needed to get physical and didn’t even try. Zero hits early and only three hits in the whole period. Got suffocated and couldn’t respond. Hot goaltender stopped us when we put it on net. Wild is a better team. No shame in this loss. Wanted that 4th win. Next.

Yes they are a very good team. Not one of our better games, imo. Too disorganized. No jump.
