Buffalo News reported this morning the Sabres increased their worth to $1.13 billion – a number that has doubled over the past three years.

Learned something, thanks. Current expansion fees are estimated at $1.7B-$2.5B, way up from the $500M Las Vegas paid.

Yes, I do. The league can make more money with expansion into a stronger market with an ownership committed to winning a Cup. Quebec City, Houston, Atlanta are just three candidates. We are kidding ourselves if we think Pegula will pump real money into a laughing stock franchise to attract HOF level talent without some real pressure from the league. Bettman won’t protect Buffalo forever, imo.

Think NHL Commissioner Bettman needs to have a ComeToJesus meeting with the Pegula family and his top brass. Spend. Fix. or Sell.

Tuch came to play tonight Boom

Guy was invisible. Tuch did nothing all night long. Believe Ruff was referring to Tuch among a few other veterans in his postgame comment about needing to play physical and win more battles “(Zucker) was in a lot more moments than a lot of our other players were…)

If Tuch plays with half the heart and enthusiasm Krebs does, he might be worth his minutes. Has all the size and skills. Just depends on the game, the score, and the shift if he gives an honest effort. Know he’s active in the Buffalo community and that’s valuable, but it’s not helping the team on the ice. Guessing it's near impossible to move the guy, but he would be at the top of my list. Tuch is exactly the wrong kind of veteran leader the Sabres need right now. Peterka, Quinn, Krebs, Kulich need a leader by example on the ice every night. Zucker and McCoud show up most every game. Package Tuch with a prospect or draft choice and give me a couple more of this type of player in his mid 20’s who can score a 15+ goals. Better yet, get a bona fide Goaltender to compete with UPL and send Levi down to Rochester. jmo
