  1. Bowling league. Missed the game. Delighted to see the win. Start a streak.
  2. It’s a small club of 32. All are billionaires. Based on public information, Pegula is worth an estimated $6.7B ranking behind the owners of the Winnipeg Jets, LA Kings, Anaheim Ducks, Colorado Avalanche, San Jose Sharks, and NJ Devils at least. In any group there is a pecking order. So, on a net worth basis Pegula is around the top owners. He must get some ribbing from them about his team’s miserable record over soon 14 playoff-less seasons. Question is when does it turn to pressure to act or sell?
  3. Think only Tuch and perhaps Thompson are natural born leaders. Dahlin is a terrific D Man who leads by his hardworking example. A change in the C would do the team and Dahlin some good, imo.
  4. See no point in sticking around to hear Tuch and Samuelson postgame interviews. Goodnight all.
  5. UPL gets no help.
  6. Helluva save UPL
  7. Damn. UPL didn’t see it until it went by him.
  8. Just another potential benefit of signing a big nasty grown ass RHD to complement Dahlin and protect our Captain. Perhaps all Power needs is to be mentored by a D Man he can look up to and learn the NHL physical game from. Was just getting to know Gilbert. Get on it, Adams.
  9. Adams doesn’t own the soon-to-be 14 yr playoff drought. Pegula does. Adams only owns 5 seasons worth. No one likes to kick a guy when he’s down. Still, his press conference did not project the kind of leadership this team needs today, imo. Nice Guy. Cares deeply. Words don’t match behavior. His body language is defeatist. 13 game losing streak. No moves. No consequences. No explanation, really. Listening to him, he sounds like combination Country Club President and a HS Principal at a failing school. Shocked he hasn’t been replaced yet. It’s a business after all.
  10. Birds of a feather? Here’s the given reality, fellas. What Adams has been doing with our roster for his tenure has been an abject failure by the only measure that matters. Drafting and developing has failed to deliver so far. Will it deliver in a couple years as Levi and some of the Amerks arrive? Maybe. Just down the road from my home, the Lightning took a vastly different approach to building a roster. From 2021-2025, they traded away their #1 draft pick to add proven players to their team to help win now. How have they done in our Atlantic Division? They lost in the SC finals in 20-21, made the playoffs in 22-23 and 23-24, eliminated both years in the first round, and stand in 3rd place this year. Compare this to Adams results over the same period. Why not trade our #1 over the next couple years to bring in the pieces we need to win now when Dahlin, Thompson, and Tuch are in their prime?
  11. Hahaha. Tell me how you really feel, LGR4GM. Appreciate your opinion. Have a different perspective on the draft. From what I gather, this upcoming draft class is considered average with no player considered transformative. While there are a couple elite centers and a power forward in the mix, likely all are a few years away from having the kind of impact the Sabres require now if we are to end our playoff skid. We need a couple veterans with attitude from winning programs who have deep playoff experience to show our kids what it takes to win over the regular and into postseason. An All-Pro playmaker C with a 200 ft game and a big physical RHD who can complement and protect Dahlin. Late 20’s. We have the assets to make it happen. Will mean trading a few of our better players and prospects and freeing up some cap space. In my view, only Dahlin, Thompson, and Tuch are untouchable. Frankly, doubt Adams is capable of this kind of major trade. See no evidence of deal making or sales skills. Don’t follow other teams or have the insight into NHL players you and others do. Now that the trade deadline has passed, what ideas do you and others have?
  12. Trade this year’s #1 pick with a prospect or two to get a big, nasty RHD vet with attitude who can show our kids how to win and protect our Captain.
  13. Beyond 2 games played as a rookie, Brannstrom‘s played 188 NHL games over four seasons, hardly an AHL player. He may have been added for depth, but it only begs the question “What happened to our need for a RHD with snarl to complement and protect Dahlin?” Dahlin has been taking a beating the last few games with little support. Appreciate they are hard to secure without paying a premium. Doesn’t negate the need. Maybe Adams will make it happen in the offseason.
  14. And another left handed shooter? What happened to our need for a RHD with snarl to complement and protect our Captain?
  15. The fact both Greenway and Zucker chose to stay with the Sabres when both were pursued by contenders and likely could have made comparable money speaks well to other SC/Playoff veterans Adams will pursue this offseason. Hoping Adams still delivers on his big trade reshaping our top six and a RHD.
  16. Think Adams imagined he was creating a dynasty and players would want to be here. He bought Dahlin and Thompson. He’s overpaid for Cozens, Power, and Samuelson. He kept UPL and Greenway. If Zucker and JJ leave, he’s about to discover he was naive.
  17. Damn. Didnt take long. Clifton ugh.
  18. Boys got Vasilevsky’s number tonight.
  19. JJ needs to fall in love with a local girl.
