  1. I didn't read this until I replied to the same comment. Great minds think alike 🙂
  2. I don't know how old you are, but that ANY fans show up after a NHL record for futility speaks to the desire fans have here. This can be a GREAT hockey town, but enough is enough. The only way to get owners to pay attention is to reduce their earning. That only happens by not buying the product. The risk is they leave, but what other recourse do fans have? When the product is at least competitive, fans will support the team. Yes, the Sabres are the little brother compared to the Bills, but that's true in any city that has NHL & NFL. Hockey only towns and Canadian cities (also hockey only towns when your competition is the CFL) are the big kahuna because they're the only thing in town. Vegas may be an exception because, well, Raiders are the competition. Once the Raiders stop sucking, VGN will take their back seat. The problem here is that fans want quicker solutions than ownership can provide. Assuming they can ever solve the problem. For Buffalo fans, I don't know if there are other owners that would buy the team AND keep it in Buffalo. Be careful what you ask for as it relates to an ownership change.
  3. But the expansion draft sounds more fun.
  4. I’m not saying leave. I’m saying rebrand. Just let them reboot from scratch. There is risk this organization could mess that up too, but watching teams that didn’t even exist 10 years ago run circles around this group is depressing. That seemingly every quality veteran has us on their no trade list is a handicap expansions teams don’t have to endure. Again, depressing. I’m not defending Adams, but he is trying to bring in players with a hand tied behind his back I know this is a fantasy, but teams that go 5,6,7 plus years without sniffing the playoffs need a new option to become relevant Since step 1 is unlikely, I’m looking for a new way to revitalize this organization
  5. Start from scratch. In an unprecedented scenario, I don’t know what happens to all those players. They all receive releases in which any team can negotiate (including Sabres 2.0). This would be absolutely fun to watch BTW.
  6. Bryan wants top minutes. If he wants to eclipse Dahlin, then that’s not happening and he goes. if he’s OK on top line w Dahlin then Powers goes because he’ll still get 2nd PP line duties which should go to Byram Givennour other holes, keeping all 3 is a waste of resources. If Adams is incapable (since Adams is incapable?) of getting fair value then they all would stay to maximize the talent you have. Since quality veterans do not want to come here, this is very possible. The trouble could be extending Byram though.
  7. Would love to acquire a couple of veteran forwards on the big club and let Benson, Cousins and Quinn gain/regain confidence in Rochester. Yes, that would possibly, but not definitely downgrade the big club for the remainder of this year, but we have to stop playing kids on the Sabres before they are ready.
  8. it seems to me that the recent NHL expansions has provided teams that did not even exist 10 years ago the opportunity to build from scratch and have at least reasonable success from the onset. Of course what happened to the Knights is ridiculous, but even the Kraken are better than the Sabres. I think a hard reset would be more enticing to players who won't consider coming to us in a trade over the environment we have now. Can we fold the organization and ask the NHL to let us start over as an expansion team?
  9. Yeah, this is the environment for a player like Patterson. Truth be told, if ANY Sabres player could be a part of an offer to upgrade the roster, the Sabres should do it. Thompson is unreliable health wise Dahlin is the most talented player on THIS roster, but would not be a captain for many other teams. Power is no Dahlin Byrum is excess as a left shot defensemen. He's not staying if he's not top pair minutes The problem is that most players that could help, don't want to come here, so there is not much help on the horizon.
  10. I had belief at the beginning of the season and bought tickets to see them at Anaheim (a happy night) and again at Vegas this weekend. Since Anaheim, they have really destroyed my belief that they are moving in a good direction. The NHL no trade clauses make improvements WAY too hard for teams at the bottom. The rich get richer and the poor stay in their place. Saturday may very well be my last Sabres game until Pegula is gone. It's his toy to play with, but he behaves as though the Sabres are the penguin forgotten on the top shelf (no, not the one where momma hides the cookies). Such a disappointment.
  11. The problem with Kevyn's plan is that you want the young players to grow together through successful play on the ice. Our kids need to start in Rochester, grow and have success there together and then come up with confidence and experience. This organization keeps drafting young talent and throwing them to the big team which I'm sure is exciting for them. Instead of working on their game, they come in over their heads being asked to be saviors one after the other. Without the ability to learn lessons together and develop any confidence, they get schooled over and over by legitimate NHL rosters and they come to doubt their ability instead of improving upon the traits that made them excellent before coming to Buffalo. The NHL is not the NBA, nor the NFL where rookies routinely come in and make big impacts. Kids are usually drafted before they are NHL ready. Unless you are a Sabres top draft pick. Then you are probably one of the top 20 in the organization, so you're rushed to the big league before your ready to compete against other more competent teams. Before Pegula bought this team, I wanted someone to buy it and move them out of Buffalo to end the embarrassment. It's only gotten worse. I don't believe this team has the heart to realize this outcome.
  12. My issue with this team is when teams set up in the Sabres zone. I don't see players aggressing the puck to force a turnover other than Tuch. They seem content to let the Avalanche pass for the perfect shot opportunity which they did on both of Makar's goals as well as the game tying goal. Also, the Sabres ability to win a faceoff when they really need it is abysmal. Not to mention, with an empty net for over three minutes and not one single moment of player control to take a legitimate shot on goal is ridiculous. The Blues got control of the puck within seconds against Buffalo and put them out of their misery. I'm planning on attending the Golden Knights game Saturday. I hope the hosts put on a great show off the ice because I'm not optimistic about the play on the ice.
  13. I want this team to be at least competitive. I’ve reached a point where they could sell them and leave Buffalo. I’d rather they stop embarrassing them and city.
  14. So it's OK to be lazy if you eventually score?
