I would hire Sheldon Keefe in a heartbeat. I"ve seen this guys work up close and he's a winner. Having said that, he is the heir apparent in Toronto.

Lots of issues obviously, these are some of my mine with the team. 1. The goaltending is not good enough. They have never when I've been watching (almost all games) shown the ability to lift the team. You must have that in the NHL. Being able to steal a game now and then and get out of a bad spell is essential. As a matter of fact, I would argue they aren't even solid in net. These guys are not reliable and consistent. 2. We aren't tough enough down low and in front of our net. We could seriously use some toughness, strength and defensive focus from especially the D-men. But, we don't have any big, tough centerman types who can help down low and in front. 3. We lack scoring depth obviously. Some on here want to question the young guys playing and not producing. I'm disappointed mainly in the vets (old guys if you will) who have provided next to no production. The best thing about the young guys is they can and will get better. The old guys brought in-not so much. 4. It is a complete indictment of this coaching staff that they have not been able to stop or even slow down the bleeding. There is no coming back from that IMO.

He has been doing better IMO agreed. Not going to produce much of anything on that line though.

Anybody else hate our line combinations? Sheary playing left side with Eichel is ineffective. He is not a top 6 forward, can't handle the puck and lacks hockey sense to be. When guys like that are on our 4th line we've arrived. Skinner- Eichel-Nylander...........Mittelstadt-Rodriguez-Reinhart

What is most worrisome is the coaching staff has delivered no answers. They can't stop the sinking to the bottom of the Marinas Trench. We just sink and sink and sink. I would also add you can say the players are working hard if you want. But, you can see the edge is off their game- they won't sell out for this staff.

It should be obvious that they aren't playing for him or this staff. When that happens to a hockey team it is time for new voices. I can think of no reason to bring this staff back.
