Skinner, Sheary and Erod have been the weakest line. Against teams like this we better get the next goal -

Sabres picked it a bit towards the end, after sleepwalking early. Good no call by refs, and proper response by Bailey. Jack is holding the puck too long on PP. -

It helps to have guys who've bought in. They have a lot of gritty, over achievers. It's winning hockey, but boring. -
What would you offer NJ for Hall?
Torpedo Forecheck replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
I'd trade for him in a heartbeat for the right price. I mean 2 years ago MVP, last year hurt, now stuck in a crappy situation. We should be so lucky as to get him. I don't buy the baloney about he's a LW, he's a top THREE FORWARD, a first liner. You can never have enough of these guys. -
Who is the Sabres 2nd Best Forward?
Torpedo Forecheck replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
1. Eichel 2. Skinner 3. Reinhart 4. Johansson 5. Olofsson 6. Vesey 7. Mitts 8. Sheary 9. Girgensons 10. Larson 11. Asplund 12. Erod -
"Maybe also some of the people on this board will realize that Babcock wasn't the biggest problem. Little tip, Matthews is one of the problems too. Look at Eichel and how he carries the Sabres. Matthews should be doing the same." Love this!

Hopefully its not Eichel, Sam and Risto you go over here......Bennett, Gaudreau and that number 1 next year get your Sabres jersey!? -
My wife teaches middle school and she tells me there are ZERO boys who play hockey (ten years ago 4-5 or more every year.) The kicker is she has NINE girls who play travel hockey.

Wow just wow, somebody actually put that out with a straight face. SMH

I would roll with this. Ideally Olofsson doesn't have to be on the first line, but it's all we have. -

He didn't do badly. -
Nah! Care to elaborate? Are you implying they aren't going to the playoffs? Because I think you'd be wrong. The situations aren't even comparable.

Sabres Have Scored 1 PP in Nov, But Given Up 2SH

You need different looks or people adjust you out of commission. The Sabres have shown one model that was successful, do they have anything else? One of the answers to try and work more low to high, and high to low, not stand around hoping Jack can find VO for a onetimer. They actually could be using an option of Sam R handling the puck down low, and leaving Jack on the weakside alone. This would give them another good look IMO, Sam can find Skinner in the slot I believe. Finding Jack for a weakside quick shot from Dahlin is a good idea as well. Wouldn't hurt to have a look like that with VO on the bench and a hoss in front screening (Josh Anderson is my dream). -
I especially like the first one, Josh Anderson is a big, fast rugged dude. Sign me up. The Miller, TT, Sheary one isn't bad either. The other one requires some contemplation. Good Job, now make them happen.

Nah. This is the logic that people take sometimes when the team isn't going well. The star is the problem they say! Why is it limited to the generational talent and the "body language"? Dropping his gloves when no one else would is bad "body language". I can't tell you how many things I disagree with in the bolded. I would hope he has a big ego, usually the stars do!. And its a problem wanting to be the guy and the leader? Would you be happier if he didn't want to? Come on. -
Pegula made a bad hire with Rex Ryan, because he didn't know any better and had morons advising him. I like the fact he has shown the ability to learn and is dedicated to the teams and area. JB has committed enough sins already to be replaced IMO. I'm not sure who I'd bring in, but I know there are guys who could help this team build out there. I don't see it improving, so I'm for doing it sooner rather than later. And, before the next trade deadline.

First, I'm speaking hypothetically not literally, when I say Okposo and Miller you think contract and defense. I think these types of guys and what they don't bring to the table is why I would replace them. When I talk about Miller, he's in and out of lineup and I'd rather have a rugged defenseman, personal opinion. If you are going to replace guys with more grit and edge, it has to be these types of guys...You're not replacing Eichel, Skinner ,Dahlin etc. I don't disagree that the team needs to react, but it is a chicken/egg problem. The team may react better, with support from the right guys. Some of these guys playing, may have no idea what a response should be like. To be clear, I'm not advocating bench clearing brawls and that nonsense. But, guys play tougher when they know they have guys who have their backs. The Cernaks of the world, respond differently to whether running at Eichel or Dahlin is a good idea, when if at every whistle or scrum there is a "pain in the ass" to be paid. Or your ass gets kicked. I'm not a contract expert and an analytics expert. These can be useful, I'm trying to learn more about them and I'm all for anything that works. I do have a ton of experience playing, coaching, scouting etc. which has value in and of itself. And, one thing I know for sure, is we are rapidly getting a rep as a " soft" team and that sitcks to you. The last time we played Tampa, Cernak was perfectly happy going after Jack. And now this! Having said this, I have no confidence this front office can figure it out. Putting together a team so sorely lacking in some areas is baffling to me. -

What's the point they are missing? Why not replace some of the lower level guys with guys like NYI,Boston and other teams that don't take allow liberties to be taken? Cizikas, Clutterbuck, Matt Martin, Kuraly, Wagner and get rid of guys like Rodriguez ,Larsson, Okposo, Miller etc. Get some lower level grinders with attitude. You need options of all types on your team, not a bunch of similar players.
