Nothing to see here. BB has been careful to not push too much dead money into next year. Can’t see him exacerbating the problem by trading Diggs now or after June1. And the Bills aren’t exactly deep at WR - trading Diggs makes no sense. Totally agree with @That Aud Smell - Diggs is just an odd fellow.

Don't know much about Samuel (the lesser). I guess Deebo wasn't available. 😄 And the Bills will surely take a WR in Day 1 or 2 as an immediate or near term #2. However, all these weapons won't matter if the Bills don't have/get a competent (at minimum) replacement for Morse. I don't think there is one on the roster presently and the $ available for a FA have nearly dried up. But I'm sure Beane has a plan. He always seems to pull a rabbit out of his hat.

I think I’ve officially become complacent (if that’s the right word) about UPL. Pitching the shutout thru 2 periods and I’m like ‘of course ….’.

Some may not like this comparison but the Sabres play tonight reminds me of the Canes at their best … pressuring the puck hard all over the ice.

It was one of the most frustrating (infuriating?) aspects/periods of the drought. I understand the crap shoot that is the projection of college kids to the NFL. But how the Bills regularly F'd up evaluating guys that had already been IN the NFL for 3.4.or 5 years was simply mind boggling to me. And those two guys were like poster children. Excessively overpaid poster children. The Bills' Pro Personnel staff was garbage during that period.

Does that include the exodus of FA's out of Miami? Dolphins lose a bunch of guys and now have the means to grossly overpay Tua. It's like going to the grocery store and seeing Oreo's buy-one-get-one free.

I’ve got a sneaking suspicion that, for those that like watching day 2 and 3 of the draft, you won’t won’t want to walk away assuming the Bills won’t be picking again for a couple hours. No way Beane stands pat with all those picks.

Thanks for that. It was very instructive. I would see the results of defensive breakdowns but don’t know hockey well enough to understand exactly why they were happening. Also seeing UPL getting hung out dry far less often (which I suppose is the idea).

Serious question: Can shootout goals be challenged? Because if so, and Power had scored, I believe it would have been reviewed. I’ll watch again but it sure looked like he drifted slightly backward when crossing the crease. Also need to see again the direction of the puck movement. Had that happened he surely (insert Airplane! quote here) would have been the first player in NHL history to have both an OT goal and SO goal overturned in the same game, no?

To this and a few others like it … it’s a very bold strategy but when all hope seems lost it’s the only way to get back in the playoff hunt. 😉

I’ve never been able to get on- demand replays on ESPN+ of national broadcasts. But then again, @PromoTheRobot is in a different part of New England, it’s above 60 degrees, and the month/date are both single digit numbers. As we know, all of these factor in to NHL broadcast decisions.

Safe to assume those teams we are trying to catch/pass will be playing each other some? If so … no loser points.

Tangentially related to the conversation, I was just reading an article about a game between the Sens and Flyers that took place about 20 years ago. NHL record 419 penalty minutes assessed. A couple fun facts: Up until there was 1 minute and 45 seconds remaining in the game a total of 11 minor penalties were handed out. One of the players involved in the first fight that kicked things off was …… Rob Ray. Didn’t recall him playing for anyone else. Not sure anyone thinks that’s good for the game of hockey.

Listening on the radio. Serious question for those who can see him: is Rob Ray drunk? He sounds like he’s hammered. Dental work? Slight stroke? Yikes!

Been a problem for nearly all of DG’s tenure as HC. ‘Playing fearless’ I guess. But just like drunk guys in a bar at 1am …. fearless, doing really dumb things, then getting their ass kicked.
