GDT: Stars @ Sabres 10/22/24, 7:00 PM EDT; MSG, ESPN+, WGR

Dahlin not playing at 100% per Lindy. Also said he's getting there. -

They’re making Paul Cotter look like ***** McDavid -
I suppose it depends on who they get line matched against. If they get line matched against a heavy 3rd/4th line I'd be a bit concerned.
-
I'm worried that second line will get caved in defensively and pushed around physically. This is a big year for Cozens to show he can be a true 2C.
-
Jack Quinn, what is your expectation for his 2024 season?
NAF replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
I appreciate your optimism, but this is wishful thinking. Quinn’s ceiling is 35 goals, 25 assists. I also don’t really see similarities between him and Tuch? Tuch’s game is about speed, whereas Quinn’s is about his shooting. -
I’d be surprised if the Oilers got back to the cup final anytime soon with how their roster is constructed.
-
I think you're giving up a lot more than that if you want all three of those players. IMO Tampa hangs up on that offer. I think #11, Quinn or Peterka, Kulich or Savoie, Jokiharju, and maybe a second rounder is more realistic.

Jeff Skinner rumors, trade and buyout speculation swirling
NAF replied to Flashsabre's topic in The Aud Club
No reason to do this now IMO. Either buy him out or trade him next year such that either the buyout length/price or trade price isn't as much. If you really don't want him on the roster next year bury him in the AHL like they did with Moulson. -
I did Cozens, Greenway, and Krebs for forwards and Dahlin and Clifton for defensemen. Benson could easily overtake Krebs this year. I think adding 1-2 more gritty forwards and a bottom pairing gritty defenseman would be a good off season. Call me old fashioned but grit is important in hockey, especially in the playoffs.
-
I think the Sens would want a forward for a roster player -- they're pretty set on the blueline. I think you're giving up one of Quinn, Peterka, or Benson. I do think all of those players are more valuable than Samuelsson, so you could probably take Rosen out of the deal.
-
Excellent. If this team is ever going to make the playoffs, Tkachuk's game translates a lot better than Quinn's. That isn't to say Quinn will be ineffective or a bad player, but anyone comparing the two of them is nuts.
-
If the cup final is EDM vs FLA, the crux/linchpin of the series will be the Barkov - McDavid line match. If Barkov is able to shut down McDavid the Oilers are screwed.
-
You have to give up something of value to get a player like Tkachuk. I'll agree with you -- Quinn is an intelligent player and would play a key role in any sort of potential Sabre dynasty. He is however, smaller (ie, play-style not necessarily conducive to playoff hockey) and injury prone. I'd gladly part with him and two complete question marks for a player who had 37 goals last year on a dogshit team. This isn't the NHL of old. Players have more power than in the 90s and early 2000s. Ottawa is a mickey mouse organization and Tkachuk has devoted 6 years of his career to that dumpster fire. Requesting a trade (which we don't even know if he did) doesn't automatically make him a low character player. They wouldn't have named him captain if he was.
-
No clue if the Brady Tkachuk rumors are valid but he’d be a fantastic addition. High character player that can play playoff style hockey — something this team is sorely lacking. My offer would be: Quinn + 11OA + Rosen
-
I will say he definitely hit the nail on the head with regards to what went wrong this season.

I'm the biggest Mittelstadt hater on earth but he has legitimately been the Sabres best player through these first 14 games. -

Aaaaand Savoie hurts the same shoulder he had surgery on last year. Awesome. -
He seems like a good dude but IMO he doesn't really provide any information that, as die hard fans, we don't already know.

Seems like Benson has a bit of that Skinner-esque 10-2 skating style. Strong on his edges, probably helps him when working around the net. I like it. -
Do you ever have anything positive to say or is it just constant negativity in the form of gibberish and incomplete sentences? What would you have done then? Adams was definitely working the phones trying to make a move...
