Good Evening Teammates, Big game tonight. It is time to get another win. Looking forward to it. MUSCLE WEIGHT -
As does Lamar Hunt, Ralph Wilson, and Al Davis.
-
Trade him for 1C. That is very doable.

I think Quinn just needs to simplify his game and shoot more. Stop thinking and be the finisher for that line. Once he gets a few goals the confidence will come back the other parts of his game will emerge. -
"Golden Wheels" did not play pro ball until the Bills drafted him from the Bluffton Beaver's in 59-60. He was excellent in his time. The AFL was an amazing league. They were on par with the NFL by the mid 60's and better by the time the leagues merged in 1970. They did it in part by breaking down racial barriers and providing equal opportunities for black players, especially small school players. Look at the number of African American players by percentage in the AFL versus the NFL. The new league provided opportunities to whoever was best. The combined AFL/NFL then soared in popularity in the 70's and 80's because of it.

I know these stats help people feel better about the draft, but what Worthy does has little to do with how Coleman is playing or his contribution to the team. The comparison to Worthy is to grade Beane I guess. In that case look at Ray Davies too, since I think he became the extra draft pick from all that shuffling at the end of round 1.

Thanks for the clarity on this one. Makes sense and provides opportunity for others to elevate their games (that means you Quinn). Competition for ice is important. -

Didn't know that. thanks for the update. -
Of course the party line on kids is to love and treat them all the same. I have 3 and I appreciate each of them in different ways as well.

That's fine PA/Stoner Dude. I was a fan of Gilbert Perreault from the first game that I saw him play in the Blue and Gold. Same with Crozier, Martin, Schoeny, Gare, etc. Since I went and got old maybe that kind of hero worship has dissipated. Or this team doesn't deserve it. Or both.

Unreasonable? Don't know. How about unusual? Seems more natural to be a fan of at least a few players on a team that you have supported since their existence.

Welcome aboard. I think Power is way overpaid for one. His play in front of our net is poor. His reluctance to use his body needs to be addressed by the coaches. He is never going to intimidate anyone, I get that, but he has to use his body as leverage and block some people out to play defense in the NHL. He cost us the Pittsburgh game with his soft play in front of our net.

Does this mean Kulich and Krebs have passed Benson on the depth chart since the season started? What has Quinn done to stay ahead of Benson? Or Lafferty for that matter? Its time for Benson to get on the scoreboard and change things in the coaches eye. -
The upright posture is compensation for something. If was very serious I doubt he would be playing at all. He is still better than Bryson or Gilbert even if he is not right, but I doubt he should see 23-27 minute work loads. Really? The Sabres have never seen old Ras, you will have to wait 10 more years for that. So you are not a fan of any player on this team then, since the team has not won since Barack Obama was Pres.

Punch and Bowman were hired by Seymour Knox. It just cant be that hard to have open and honest conversations with proven GMs and Coaches and then hire one. Have things changed that much?

Well Byram's contract is up after the season so he could get moved if he is asking for big $$ or if we are not in it at the deadline, but it sounded like you are thinking of resigning Byram and eventually trading Dahlin? I have always been skeptical of the Byram trade and how we fit him into the payroll given the big dollars already allocated to defense. Back to the subject of Dahlin, it just seems weird to be talking about trading the guy they gave a big contract to, and then handed a C.
-
I can't believe this is even a discussion. You can see that Dahlin is skating with his back and shoulders way too upright. He has no bend, and it seems to translate to less power and explosiveness. I think he is playing hurt. Happens all the time.

The Sunday Night Football coverage just gushed over the Jets for the entire first half, especially Collingsworth. It was nauseating. The Jets get a lot of publicity for being such a poorly run organization. Rogers is finished, and they will hate the Devante Adams contract soon enough.

McD said he took the opening kick to get the wind when they wanted it, which is 1st and 4th Q's. The plan was to score first with the wind, because they thought the weather could get more severe, which it never did. I have no problem with that logic, even if the offense did not execute as planned.
-
Who is the best defenseman on the Sabres if not Dahlin?
-
He was injured in camp and in preseason games. He looks injured to me. He is playing at half speed.
-
They sure started poorly in all phases of the game but they got it going. Allen seemed to get a boost from Cooper's presence, as did #O. I am hopeful that they can open up the offense more and let Allen make plays. On defense we need to get #43 Bernard back. He left the game. Tough road game in Seattle is the next river to cross.

Third year in franchise history and they made the playoffs in the NHL's heavyweight division. That was quite an accomplishment.

On-ice Expected Goals. Off-ice Expected Goals? That's it! We need guys that can score goals when they are off-ice.
