  1. What going on with the 2 on 1’s?
  2. He had a good shift. He is tough and always game.
  3. To get their correct names when he questions them. You want someone to listen to you calling him, use his name.
  4. Size and experience is first and foremost. Quinn maybe starts goal scoring streak?
  5. Congratulations and enjoy.
  6. Not sure about the bolded. From what I see he has a good sense of humor. He is also inclusive with all in the room, not a clique guy, which is a nice and necessary trait for a captain.
  7. RIP Phil Lesh. Any Dead Heads out there?
  8. Well Yukon would be going home for him so you really cannot take that away. They did that summer camp in Europe that Dahlin led. I don't know how much time he spent training for strength and speed. I just want to see him add more to his frame and get stronger. Whatever it takes to get there.
  9. I like the MW references. Some folks come up with clever ones that make me laugh. Since the team is often on the cusp of falling out of relevance, and desperation is a normal state, MW usually seems appropriate. Tonight’s game will be a big test. Looking forward to it.
  10. Hey John, yes the football braintrust is a good one. The Hail Mary was wild. Another two man rush, like what the Bills did. It’s just not good to give the opponent time to get into the end zone and set up a jump ball. Try to kill the play and still cover deep.
  11. The AFCE was supposed to be a three team race. The Bills are consistent. McDermott gets a lot of heat for game day decisions, but his ability to consistently win and have his teams ready is commendable. He does a lot more right than wrong. Having Josh Allen really helps of course.
  12. Yes, penalties. Too many pre snap penalties that they can control. You can’t blame ref judgement on pre snap penalties. But overall the Bill were impressive again. Big road win in a tough place to play.
  13. Another great weekend for Buffalo sports. Sabres win at home vs Detroit Bills win in Seattle. A double Dub. Two weeks in a row, so a double, Double Dub.
  14. We have not spent to the cap in how long? This is one of your worst posts, and that takes some doing. You clearly have reading comprehension issues if you think I want this team to leave Buffalo. I care deeply for the team and would hate seeing them leave. I am on record on that. I am not an apologist for the poor leadership that has plagued this franchise since Terry took over. If you are happy with the past 13 years so be it.
  15. I was answering another posters 4 points. Some of it may be repeat information but most of it is a new topic. You can put me on ignore. That would be your best solution.
  16. I don't blame the state and county for funding the stadium. I think it was in the best interest of WNY, although non-football fans might not agree. I don't think you should say "Terry built the stadium" when the tax payers carried a very big load. Biggest in NFL history so far.
  17. I was answering the term "combined winning seasons" - as in both teams have a winning season. I was thinking playoffs too. Yes, technically, the Sabres were over .500 in 22-23 and I stand corrected - but playoffs is what I consider the minimum for a successful season.
  18. A. The Bills are good thanks to McDermott and Beane and are not part of the discussion. The Sabres have had one season over .500 and still failed to make the playoffs. That is not a winning season in anybody's book but yours. I stick with ZERO winning seasons since the drought that Pegula created. B. The state of New York and Erie County will pay $850 million, with $600 million from New York and $250 million from Erie County. This is the largest taxpayer contribution ever for an NFL facility. The state might eventually recover some of it, depending on inflation and other factors (time value of money). Pegula certainly has the money to pay for the stadium, but he didn't "drill another well". C. He fired the hockey coach who led them to ONE Stanley Cup final, under a prior owner and GM, and then he came groveling back to him because he is incapable of conducting an effective job search for the Sabres. D. The Sabres are under the cap again. In yet another pivotal "must win" season. We shall see how it works out.
  19. I would say it’s a thing against the Sabres, and Dahlin is a victim of it. I am amazed at how many “fans” in Buffalo still don’t care for Dahlin’s game yet. It’s probably not the majority, but it’s quite a few. When I go to Buffalo, which is often, it’s very hard to find fans that really like this team anymore. The majority of the Sabre fan base is in the wait and see mode. Unlike football, the NHL has so many more games and the losing had become intolerable for many people. Draft picks take many years to develop, and this team sits on unspent cap dollars year after year. Dahlin is a victim of playing for an organization run by the least successful owner in NHL history ( rated by wins and losses and playoffs). Eichel and Reinhart are similar cases.
  20. This is all crazy talk. The Sabres and Bills have combined for 0 straight winning seasons under Pegula. ZERO. Taxpayers are building the new stadium. The Sabres finally found a coach? He found the guy that he fired. The future might be bright as long as Terry stays far away from Hockey Operations. If he shows up on a podcast, please ask him when the Sabres can spend to the cap. The teams lack of resources are certainly on him.
  21. Looked at the game stats and of note is that the Sabres outshot the Wings 6-4 in the 3rd period and won the period 1-0. Lindy is getting through to them. They have to work even harder to consistently close out games like they did today but it was nice to see that.
