  1. Fair. What we can hope for is that he gets his game going on the 3rd line, builds confidence, continues to mature and build his body, and gets back to the second line, which I think is his future.
  2. They didn't stick with the first group that included Eichel and Reinhart. Now they are men, in their prime years, and on teams were they don't have to carry the rest of the team every night.
  3. If the practice lines are the way he is leaning for the next game, then Lindy is saying Krebs is ascending and playing the way he wants, and JJP is not. Cozens on the 3rd line is finally putting him were I think he should be. At this point in his career Cozens as a 3rd line center/wing is more in line with were he would play on most playoff level teams in this league. That is what he is today, a promising 3rd line player, still young and developing, and with a ceiling for 2nd line. That is what he is. The pressure for him to be more is hurting more than helping. It is sad in some ways that Cozens is getting so much flak because the GM paid him too much too soon, that expectations were quickly set at 2C, and that he wears an "A" when he still lacks big game experience and know-how in this league. Reality can be painful at times. Greenway will need a spot, he was very good with Zucker and McLeod for a short period. I hope he goes back to what we saw before the injury. Quinn will likely sit out more games, watch/learn and wait for his next chance- it will come. He is suffering from the same thing as Cozens. Expectations are bigger than he can handle. Kozak and Kulich will push for ice. On the defense the pairing of Power and Joki has looked pretty weak to the eye test, have not seen if the advanced fancy stats verify what I think I see with that pair.
  4. Sure, he is a good guy, smart (kind of), likeable (sort of), etc. His press conference was a disaster. Right now he is in his 5th season and there are no signs of improvement on the ice, or off the ice for that matter. It is no longer relevant to even discuss the qualifications that got him there. What has he done in his tenure is the question, and is the team going in the right direction? He gave contracts to Dahlin (C), Thompson (A), Samuelsson (A), Cozens (A), Power, and UPL. Based on his comments, he apparently has saved cap room for Peterka, Quinn and Byram. He traded or let go (players of note) - Eichel, Reinhart, Montour, Risto, Ullmark, and Mittelstadt He acquired - Greenway, Levi, Clifton, Byram, and the most recent contingent of Malenstyn, Zucker, McLeod, Aube-Kubel, and Lafferty He drafted (top two rounds in order of seasons): Quinn (8), Peterka (34), Power (1), Polpatov (32), Savioe (9), Östlund (16), Kulich (28), Leinonen (41), Benson (13), Wahlberg (39), Helenius (14), Kleber (42) Best point total - 91 pts One winning season (91 pts) No playoffs appearances in his tenure Coach search - one candidate formally interviewed (Lindy Ruff) State of team: Currently 5th in division, 14 of 16 in conference, 2 points from last place. Team currently on a 6 game losing streak, includes 5 of 6 home ice losses The team is on pace for 76 points this season after 27 games (33% of season played) It is going to take a dramatic turn around to make the playoffs and his Core group has to do much more to carry the group and prove worthy. That means better and more consistent leadership and play from Dahlin, Thompson, Cozens, Power, Samuelsson, Tuch and UPL. He is also counting on big contributions from Peterka, Quinn, and Byram. Several key vets could leave, or ask to leave, after this season (Greenway, Byram, Zucker, McLeod).
  5. Read this. Buffalo local media and the national media are aligned with the thoughts commonly made here at SabreSpace. https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article/sabres-gms-comments-on-no-palm-trees-and-taxes-miss-mark-in-buffalo/ https://thehockeynews.com/news/opinion-players-dont-want-to-go-to-the-sabres-because-they-stink-it-has-nothing-to-do-with-palm-trees-and-taxes There are hundreds of news clips and tweets like this out there. Your defense of Pegula and Adams and their plan for the Sabres is misguided and kind of sad.
  6. Ruff is not a GM. He knows the game, he knows players, etc, but he has no contracts experience. He may be strategic, we don’t know, but the inner details of a general manager are not his strength. I think Karmanos would be better than Adams or Ruff.
  7. I don’t think Eichel cares about the fans as much as you think he does. The fans did not decide Eichel’s. fate in Buffalo. That was Eichel a Terry Pegula, in mutual agreement to let him go.
  8. He really isn’t a pure center. He can play there, sure, but its not a natural fit. I could see him score bunches with a playmaker type 1C.
  9. You think the fans are the reason Pegula allowed the tank? Your replies are bizzare.
  10. For the first time in my life I too am worried about losing the team. I still don’t think he sells the Sabres and allows them to move and keeps the Bills. That would be a problem for him when the Bill eventually have a downturn. Best hope is that a Buffalo led consortium buys 51% or more from him, and he fades out of Sabres folklore.
  11. How does Ruff have that pull? Pegula fired Ruff once already and he will do it again. Ruff has been gone for a long time and worked for other teams. He is NOT a confident of Terry, Adams is. If anything, Terry will tell Ruff to step away. If Adams goes it will be AFTER the season.
  12. I don’t think it’s the draft picks that are the problem. I think it’s the program and the culture, lots of Sabres picks are thriving on other teams. Too many.
  13. Who would have picked over the guys in the past 5 years? Given the 4+ years of development time for an 18 year old, a better plan would have been to trade some of the many first rounders for established veteran players. But hey, we have a whole bunch more first rounders in Rochester to feed to the lions.
  14. The toilet has an old fashion box on the wall, the kind with a pull chain. If we could get @Doohicksie to tape a bicycle tire pump up behind it …
  15. Yes I do. They have a negative affect. Do you want to be booed, questioned, and criticized while you work? Not only that but in front of peers on the opposing teams. They all must hate it.
  16. Sure. But Granato was a limited coach that did not teach winning NHL hockey. That was his shot, fair or not.
  17. … And Greenway leaves, and McLeod leaves? Then we see Rosen, Östlund, Helenius and R Johnson in the NHL next.
  18. It’s not all on Power. The Sabres that know Krueger and Granato level coaching all struggle. It’s being revealed. My friend was correct. ok. Good to see the kid Kulich score. Rochester 2 Utah 5.
  19. Cozens fails to shoot. Passes backwards. He creates an odd man rush on his own team. Goal on us. Cozens ruins whatever line he is on.
  20. I’m picking up leaves in between periods. Lost the thread. 😂
  21. Press your forward button to catch up if your playback is behind. If that does nothing then its the satellite path to your TV and laws of physics will prevail.
  22. Huge booing and groaning and moaning. That’s what the kids are learning. Can you imaging being a kid exposed to hockey at age 7 like I was. Only now that kid is 20, and has still have never seen a good Sabres team.
