  1. Good evening Teammates, 30 games and and we are play to staying out of the basement Bad start. Ugh MUSSELL WAIT
  2. Really? Not seeing anything similar to the Bills. There is no current Sabre even remotely like Allen. They had Eichel, we saw how he was developed and supported and it was not good. The Sabres had "Diggs" already, his name was Reinhart, and they let him go just as he reached his prime. Hockey and football are not comparable. The draft in each sport could not be more different. No Sabres Coach could establish a culture and get the players respect like McDermott . No Sabres GM can compare to Beane. The Bills let Diggs, Morse, Davis, Hyde, Poyer, and Tre White all go after last season, most of them were captains. The media wrote them off, yet they are even better this year than last. Beane is simply light years beyond Adams. Adams should be modelling the culture building that McDermott and Beane did. All I hear is excuses.
  3. Troops, we have no need for more supplies, more rations, more bullets. Everything we need is right here.
  4. I did not like the trade either because I did not want to hand the 2C role to Cozens and I though Mitts was versatile and starting to become a mature 2-way player. I will add that Bryam has helped the team. Imagine the defense without him. Especially since Muel regressed. We might be able to get something for Byram when he tells he wants out this spring.
  5. And if not 27, then 29? then 31? Sooner or later he will succeed. Right? He is telling us they are planning to make playoffs right now. He just hired a Buffalo hockey icon, they (TP/KA) better be planning and trying in earnest right now.
  6. If it works. It’s not working now. Let it play out but so far this is more regression. I want Adams to succeed but I don’t know about his management and roster building skills, so far they are not on display are they? How many years will this take. Sooner or later the law of averages comes in.
  7. Sure Pegula gets all of the blame. All of it. You can defend Adams, and some of what you say may be true. But he is a puppet and I have seen enough of his puppet show. I want a POHO/GM that is his own man. I want a guy that walks into a GM interview and won't take the job unless he has total control of the roster and the cap. Adams is not that guy.
  8. Agree. Failure to add the right veteran pieces to a young team. Not that it is easy, but the results show he didn't do enough. Results do not matter in this organization. Winning is not the priority. Adams can smirk and tell you how no one wants to come here, the trade prices are too high, and all that other stuff - but that is his job and he is failing at it. Zucker will play hard and he will get traded to a playoff contender at the deadline. Greenway will probably want out too. It is highly doubtful that we will get two vets that are as good to replace them next year. The players talk to each other.
  9. Please recall that Lindy gave this team a day off last week, the day before the Ranger game, when they were home. The result was dead legs for the first two periods, another one goal loss, and the crowd booing when they still had a chance with the extra attacker to tie the game. This embarrassing moment was highlighted by the TNT crew. If Cozens is "too tense" they should bench him and play Kulich in his spot. Practice is not punishment. Practice is what professional athletes do all the time. The better ones like to practice and they get others to like it too. They need work. Even a light practice, or special teams, something? Here they are already in the Bell Center, they have ice reserved, they have equipment, the video shows they were obviously dressed for a practice. Terry shows up with his words of encouragement and then they decide to skip practice. I find this disturbing. What messages are they sending? No practice - then skate them, no skate - then look at film. Instead, lets go out into the town, hit a few titty bars and slug down some beers. How about they EARN the time off?
  10. So Santa came to visit the team and said he believes in them, but he has no new toys for them. There will be nothing under the tree, but he believes in them. The elves were just too busy with football matters I guess? No practice needed, they could just hang out all day instead. Go check out the city and have a little fun. Predicting another soft game, a blown lead, and a new place in the Eastern Conference basement.
  11. Unfortunately the stains of what happened 10 years (and more) are still there. They still affect the perception of the franchise on the outside. Hockey players talk. Lehner left and publicly trashed the team for many years, claiming his injuries and his alienation and mental health issues were exacerbated by this team. The story of ROR losing his love for the game in Buffalo and then winning a Cup/Selke/Smythe is still very much alive in the NHL. Kane and Bogo, flawed as they are, are not ambassadors of the way the organization is run. The legend of ineptitude continues and gets worse with the hiring of a soccer coach, the Eichel injury fiasco, the trades of top talent like Reinhart, and the consistent fielding of young teams far below the salary cap. Especially hard is seeing ex Sabres winning and thriving. The chronic losing in Buffalo continues unabated by a GM that is both tone deaf and ineffective. They are not a serious hockey club. This organization had the 4th highest winning percentage in the NHL from inception in 1970 to the time Pegula arrived. It’s all destroyed. Any good, and any glory we once had is tarnished and buried. The TANK was a massive FAIL and ruined the perception of the organization. It ends when they can achieve a level of consistent winning, and players want to come here, not just be here as Adams says, they should want to come here and thrive here.
  12. He should get a buzz cut, do the opposite .
  13. For sure. And if true, that’s very unfortunate that Adams thought that way. He could have looked at it like Beane. Which is, that once his players start winning, they will like their teammates, and the coaches and staff, and especially the community. Players would stay if they had a chance to win. Adam’s brought up the Bills in his presser but he missed the mark on his comments. He talked about the difficulties they had, but doesn’t follow how they overcame it.
  14. The video shows them at the rink. So I assume Terry addressed them there. After the meeting they called off practice. I get that they just played a back to back, but a would a little work hurt a team on a 10 game losing streak? He gave them a day off prior to the Rangers game and it took them 2 periods to wake up and compete.
  15. Terry flew to Montreal. He addressed the team, he gave everyone a vote of confidence, they skipped practice again. Yes, you win.
  16. Agree with "compete for a playoff spot", maybe not get there, but they should be in the hunt. Since they came home from the Cali trip they have completely fallen apart. Its like they need the routine that travel provides. Lots of their off ice time is planned out. They get home and they lose focus. They cant get a good start, they cant play 60 minutes, they panic and cant finish - what is distracting them? Most teams thrive on home ice, even average teams. Bring in a team psychologist. Losing close games and blowing leads says something about the players. Words like leadership and accountability are still just slogans to many payers on this team. Something has to change and it has to come from within the players.
  17. Terry message: "I believe in all of you guys, and I think the solution to turning this team around is right here in the room. You guys can do it, and no costly trades will need to be made, because this group is the best team I have seen so far. You know I once coached my sons Squirt and Pee Wee teams and we won the Olean Youth Hockey House League for Development (OYHHLD)* two years in a row, so I know something about winning ice hockey. Now take the day off, check out those fantastic Montreal strip joints, just be careful, the girls tend to wear a lot of cologne. I have to fly back to the super yacht now, the Christmas Palm Trees are to be delivered tomorrow, but have a good game. Good-bye, fella's." footnote: * pronounced oiled
  18. Now provide the Reality of our General Manager.
  19. I am joking. The reality of his private jet takes away from the austerity that is the Sabres. The story is better that he grabs a last minute super saver on Air Canada ( flying economy coach). He probably cannot get all that fruitcake through customs either.
