  1. Heh-huh. He said Spurgeon, huh-heh
  2. They are playing their normal game. We are hanging with them.
  3. Ice looks slow, soft, and sticky. Especially our D zone
  4. Minnesota guy pulled his stick and put it under his arm. Pretty smart PK by Wild
  5. Minnesota matching Reaves line with the Kid line. Hmmm.
  6. That is not a stat. It’s an opinion.
  7. Rob Ray with his “avoid it” advice. Hmmm
  8. Wow. Quinn. I said I wanted him to get greedy. Nice play
  9. Good evening Teammates, these Minnesotans start late, 8:00 local time Let kick their ***** for the inconvenience. Muscle Weight. Go Sabres!!!
  10. Nathan Beaulieu or Casey Nelson anyone?
  11. Cozens had adrenaline going on game day. I will bet the jaw area hurt like hell the day after, and maybe today too. No sense in aggravating it. Aspy will have to step in. I expect 71-17-37 to see a lot of ice.
  12. Poor Rick. Never gonna escape the fact that the Sabres drafted for need, and not the BPA. Seiling was a good player, Bossy was an elite scorer and HoF player. Bossy averaged 57 goals a year in his 10 year career, his lowest output was his last season, 38 goals in 63 games. Insane. He played on the undisputed best team in the league and pretty much never got hurt, until his 10th season when is complained of chronic back issues. Gil would have had a few hundred more assists and probably another 50 goals playing with Bossy. Oh well ....
  13. I say it today because we recently played them, and familiarity breeds contempt - and they have the Avs climbing on their backs, and their last game with Philly had 4 fights. So I think they might try to intimidate, and then again maybe not.
  14. Probably a lot of soreness the day after. This probably relegates 22 and 77 to about 10 minutes of ice. I was hoping they could get on the scoresheet before this trip ends. Asplund could get more ice time due to his PK ability. The Wild are very physical, 24 is a guy we need.
  15. Sure, but we need 2. They didn’t look tired last game. Keep it going. We get lots of rest soon.
  16. I have seen two generational players. Orr and Gretzky. Both changed the game during their careers. There are special “great in their era” players - Mario, Sid, Ovie, to name a few. But that is not generational in terms of impact to the game. McDavid needs a few Cups before talk about putting him with 4 and 99.
  17. Sure, I subscribe to the happy wife motto. I don’t blame him for leaving. More money, a better destination for his wife, and he gets away from the losing culture. I just don’t think we need him now, he is just another stop-gap player that we will be replacing soon. We need to think bigger and better. Prefer a RHD as well.
  18. Ok, McCabe is an upgrade over Bryson but so are a hundred other NHL defensemen. I agree that he was a good soldier when he was here. He was also injury prone and he brings no NHL winning experience. He was part of the losing culture and I prefer to not bring any of those players back. We just don’t need it. He is a bigger body than Bryson but with no significant accomplishments. Definitely not worth a #1. Maybe worth a #2. I want them to look for better player. Pass. Move on.
  19. Could be the fact that he didn’t stay. His wife wanted Chicago.
  20. Nah on McCabe. He isn’t very good and he doesn’t want to be here. Don’t go backwards Sabres.
  21. DG is dialed in on what they need. They still skate, just don’t stay long to practice. They still meet to go over the games, but they are resting and relaxed. By game time they are flying. They won’t be taking the Wild by surprise tonight. The Wild will try to slow us down. Winnipeg tried to slow us down and they slowed themselves down in the process.
  22. Maybe you’re right. If a few of his teammates are pissed at the coach then you have factions. The Sabres had them and they are bad. Cassidy should know better. I don’t care for Eichel, but Cassidy is using old school techniques on a guy that won’t respond to them.
  23. It is possible that he has a healthy period, we will see were he finishes. I look at his draft year class and he is sliding down the list in goal/point production. He may not finish top 5 or even top 8 in that class.
