Not asking him to be a Pronger type, and I am not comparing him to Pronger, but then again, why not? He will get stronger and is good enough to play a physical game if he wants too. I specifically compared him to Hedman, not Pronger.

Playoff hockey has already started for Buffalo and the entire team needs to play more responsible hockey in their defensive zone. More sacrifices need to be made, this is the type of hockey they have to learn to actually get into the playoffs. I made a few similar comments to yours recently on Samuelsson and Power the past few games. They do a lot with their sticks, and usually they have good sticks and make plays, but their are times that separation of the man from the puck is the play, and you rely on your partner to clean up the puck. They are two big guys that have to use their body more and put that size to better use - this is especially true for Power. Opposing forwards just cant be allowed to skate around freely with no fear. Watching a star like Hedman last night, he does it. He can take a forward out of the play with a body check and is athletic enough to not to take himself out of the play on the process. If and when Adams makes the trade to bring in more defensive help I want that type of player added our team. Not saying we can get Hedman, we obviously can't, but a veteran that will play the body, is mobile and strong, and can settle things down would make a difference.

Yup. They don't have the holes we do, everyone is solid on that team. They are not breaking in 3 rookies and several sophomores either. But top end talent, we have closed that gap and we have a lot of emerging talent.

Skinner just wasn't buying what Ralph was selling. Skinner has become a more complete player under Granato and for sure you're right it is unusual for a veteran to improve his overall as much as he has. Makes me think he had it all the time.

I do not think Tampa has twice the talent but they have less weaknesses and they are a veteran team that has won multiple cups. Talent wise we hang with them. Experience and mindset is the difference.
