  1. I would replace the shutoff valves. If you don’t use them over the years/decades they fail to seal when you finally do. I bought a 30 year old house and upgraded the bath(s) and kitchen. Most of them dripped when I shut off the water. I replaced them all.
  2. Reading some interesting stuff here. I don’t see Adams giving up three assets (2 of which are first round equivalents) for any of these goalies, Demko, Hart, or Saros. I have not watched enough of any of them to have a preference - just looking at stats Saros is the best, but team play in front of the goalie is a factor. As has been stated, just one first rounder is a rare trade, that is as far as he might go On the offer sheet for Swayman, why would he consider Buffalo? Several risks - is he really a 1 ? What is his performance behind our defense?
  3. Pegula got A LOT of help finding McDermott from the league itself. Rex Ryan was the advice of Russ Brandon, a relic from a failed era. They would have been better off working from the league’s diversity list, which is full of talented people ready for a shot The NFL does not want dog franchises, and even the small markets bring value to their brand if they show real passion for the sport. TV revenue is king. Pegula is a good business man that can see business operations talent That was Adams front office job prior to becoming GM. Adams had Pegulas ear and attention, and he fit the Efficient/Economic model they were going to - Boterill would not comply with it. Thankfully for the fans, Adams is actually showing quite a bit of ability in the GM role. So Pegula should get credit for giving Adams a shot. He will get more credit if he continues to stay out of the way on the hockey side of the business in the future
  4. So are you for defending Terry, supporting him, or what? What is your position on his performance to date and your thoughts on his future plan?
  5. None of this is in my comments. You aren’t getting the point. Let me get my Sabre.
  6. Yes. Really. Sabres fans have no excuses. Most of the fan base is waiting on the sidelines. The team has been irrelevant. Tronno, on the other hand …
  7. They list him at 185 and 6’1”. He can realistically add about 5 lbs of muscle over the offseason to improve upper body strength, still keep his speed, and even improve his acceleration. That will take some work. It’s something Tage did a few years ago. Upper body strength will help immensely in the one on one battles where he tends to fall down a lot (like Rinehart did).
  8. I am hoping that Samuelsson can add some more sandpaper to his game. He has size. I have to remind myself that he is 23 and has only 100 NHL games under his belt. If he can just add the physicality that Dahlin has he would be a force back there.
  9. No fan base finds excuses like the Leaves fan base
  10. And this is were players like Greenway and Stillman can help. We still need a few more. Once our young guys get older, and stronger, the tables will turn.
  11. Check out DG’s post game interview. He said your boy Joki played his best game. We needed more of that when Dahlin had his first injury. I think you are overreacting on the fans Joki comments. Adam’s needs to bring in an experienced veteran RHD, the lineup pairings will sort itself out - my point is our defensive prospects pipeline is not going to help them anytime soon and our depth is a significant drop off. When the Sabres focus on better team defense they inevitably score less, you saw it in the Ranger game, it just makes sense. Last night they were able to solve Murray, Tuch made a difference and his presence improved 2 lines. We are not out of it. We can get hot and other teams can get cold. It’s more important to stay competitive right to the end because this is very close to playoff hockey right now.
  12. Dahlin is definitely hurting and it is affecting his defensive game as much or more than his offensive game. He was -3 last night and from the looks of it, it was not all Bryson. He is much less likely to take a body right now. So on a few goals players got shots off that they would not have otherwise. Still a stud. I would not trade him for any of the other Norris contenders. It’s a shame these injuries came at crunch time but that is a result of many minutes and him taking a pounding as the biggest physical presence we had for most of the season. Even when paired with Samuelsson, Dahlin was by far more physical. Many fans here complain about no grit on the team, so we bring in two physical players at the deadline, and now they complain about those players being slow or not skilled. Adams must bring in another big physical presence on the back line. You need 8 reliable defenseman on a roster to survive 82 games plus playoffs.
  13. What age do you consider youth if today? Just curious.
  14. Love beating that team. Love it.
  15. Ugh. My feed is slow. Still have not heard the Leaves goal
  16. They did good against Rangers too. And Edmonton. Consistency is needed, and health.
  17. I will be landing soon and be interrupted here at SS, should be able to listen to the end. Won’t post until late tonight or tomorrow morning.
  18. Cozens has talent too!
  19. Tuch must have talent.
  20. I haven’t had any. Gotta get a rental car and drive about 20 minutes or so.
