  1. Jarvis is playing great, what a pick at 13. Must be nice to be drafted by a good team with a good coach to help settle a player in. Of that draft Peterka is 9th in games played, 6th in goals, and 7th in points. Quinn is 15th in games, 13 in goals, 13th in points. So we were fortunate to have a #2 that outperform the #1, and we could not find a way to keep him.
  2. Don’t forget, you also don’t like “must win”. The boat talk is overdone for sure. But when the world was in the midst of a global pandemic they publicly worried about the boat and the family lifestyle. They furloughed 125 rank and file employees in the Sabres organization and PSE. Not a great look for them. The Sabres are always second fiddle, no Bills employees were furloughed. Then they went to this EEE garbage, and again the Bills didn’t. And they brought in their most unqualified GM yet who in 6 years has only added to the ruination of the Sabres culture. So while the boat jokes are stale, the agitation of the fan base is legitimate.
  3. This guy obviously didn’t watch Cozens play, obviously didn’t read his fancy stats. But still, the trade had huge risks for Buffalo given Norris’ injury history and his salary. Ottawa unloaded a good player with high cost and high availability risks for the potential of Cozens
  4. I do. I was talking about the forwards. The ones that Adams drafted in the first round - not a lot of diversity in style. I guess he was hoping on hitting on at least one playmaker/scorer. Grittier is better that bigger, of course. Power is big, Muel is big, the Sabres team size is not their problem.
  5. The NHL has changed. Size matters once again. The Lightning have made moves to get bigger and grittier in an effort to keep up with Florida. Look at the Caps, they seem to take their time developing players, big players like Protas. While no one wants to waste a roster spot on a fighter (like Geertsen) the need for a few big tough players what can play a regular shift is now a premium. Marcus Foligno fits the bill for bottom 6. Hagel for top 6. Why Hagel never got a look in Buffalo may have been because he was caught in a front office regime change. The post Eichel trade draft had Adams strutting about like he had something in the group of Savioe, Kulich and Östlund. We still wont know what they are for a few more years. Kulich is a diminutive looking 6'1' and 193 pounder, he just doesn't look that big.
  6. From reading Muppy’s posts on TSW I thought that Muppy was female.
  7. He actually showed some attitude against Ottawa, now he needs to keep it up. Your bar is too low. He was a first overall draft pick. Just once in a while can we see a dominant performance from him?
  8. I know. I have referred to the Sabres as the Seals many times. Someone in the NHL Front Office had the bright idea to move Seals into the Adams division, which essentially put them in the East Division and the East Conference. As if the travel wasn't hard enough for them, they loaded them up with more games against many of the better teams. Looking back they had cool jerseys but their wacky owner (Charles Finley) made them wear white skates one season. The players hated it.
  9. I cannot find an interview with Lyon and Hammy.
  10. Lyon rode his snowmobile to school at the age of 11. He can handle Hammy.
  11. That Caps team was terrible. The KC Scouts and the Cleveland Barons has some terrible teams too. Same with the Seals. Same Don't forget the Sabres recent 91 point season, Florida edged us out by a point on the strength of the play of backup goalie Alec Lyon who beat us late in the season in a game were we outplayed Florida. This was the year after their 122 point Presidents Trophy season and they squeaked in with a 92 point season. Florida rode that WC#2 spot all the way to the Cup final, losing to Vegas. They have since won the last two Cups.
  12. I would like to play the Rangers again soon. They have a goalie and the rest is over rated
  13. I doubt Lyon holds up playing 50+ games behind a porous team defense. Would like to see Ellis play before UPL comes back.
  14. OK, the Sabres had one win over what looked like a minor league goalie. Lets see how they fair in the next few games. We have not seen Kesselring with actual bullets flying. Doan has 12 career goals in 62 games over two seasons when he got here. Peterka averaged 22 goals per season in 3 seasons. Lets keep things in perspective. Peterka did not like playing for Lindy so he got out. Reports are that many young players don't like playing for Lindy. Reports are that players have no confidence in Adams ability to improve the team. There is nothing Peterka ever said or did to suggest he was bad for the team culture. He seems to care about his career and he made a business decision. I don't blame Eichel and Reinhart for wanting out, why should I blame Peterka? That said I am hopeful that Doan can be a good player. I saw his Dad playing out west quite a bit, and if the kid has that kind of heart and hustle he will help this team. He has yet to show a goal scoring touch but that could emerge. Right now he is trying to establish himself as a middle 6 winger and I view him as a diamond in the rough. I like that we received two promising pieces for Peterka, but we don't have to put down Peterka to like Doan.
  15. Should Benson and Norris trade jersey numbers? Benson seems more like a 9.
  16. This kind of play in the 3rd is not good. Sitting back too much. This won’t cut it against a better team.
  17. It will be interesting to see if they can finish with poise and dominance. Play a smart period, give up no goals, add to the lead. I predicted a 4-2 win, let’s go for 7-2!
