  1. Fair assessment. We will revisit this in April and see how Power did. I want you to be right and I want to see it this season. Right now he is a big defenseman that does not have a physical game, has offensive skills are offset by his inability, or perhaps unwillingness, to play good defense. This could be the year, or he may not take the step we are looking for until 25, so we get his bottom 6 years. That means others have to be better and play more minutes.
  2. If the rest of the NHL GMs thought this then we could trade Power straight up for Robertson or other players of his ilk. Yet everyone here packages him with first rounders and top prospects. This is the year that Power has to make a significant improvement in his game.
  3. My Yankee fandom goes back to the mid-60's and the end of the Mantle era. I loved the mid 70's teams and the Billy Martin- Reggie Jackson era. I'm stuck with them as a fan but I do agree that this version of the Yankees is not very likable. Baseball in general is no longer a big thing for me.
  4. I just hope he is good enough to play in the NHL because we need exactly what he said. I want players that other teams don't like playing against, and I want Buffalo's arena to be a place that teams do not like visiting.
  5. No Sox. I am a Yankee fan, but they are not kidding anyone, even if they make the playoffs. Would like to see Cleveland surge and make the playoffs. No Sox.
  6. Our #1 goalie.
  7. shocking. Wishing them all the best in the recovery.
  8. Good win. I expected Miami to play a good game and they did. 3-0 and 10 days of rest. Go Bills!!!
  9. What is Matty’s job this year?
  10. Must be some good beer
  11. Go Bills! Miami should be playing hard to turn the season around and save their coach. We shall see. I always expect a tough game but would love to see the Bills thump them. I think they can.
  12. Grown ups like Tuch and Greenway will help this group quite a bit. The 2nd line as shown is a low minutes line, unless Doan becomes his father in one season he is bottom 6.
  13. Danforth will be a role player on the bottom 6/ bottom 3. With injuries to account for he could get 40-50 games and bring some veteran experience. But keep in mind he is 32, 4 NHL seasons, zero playoff games. His playing could keep a kid like Bozak in the minors.
  14. Adams is selling hope. He is looking for something positive to say about the off season and the upcoming season. Sabres tickets are not flying off the shelf and ticket prices are very low relative to the rest of the league. Buffalo is home of the Bills and the Sabres have never been so irrelevant. Adams has to do more than cheer lead to get the fans back. Top D corps in the league? No way. Lots to prove here. Maybe in a few years but they still lack that big steady shut down defensive rock. Maybe he is here and will emerge, maybe they never get a player like that, not all teams have one. I liked Kesselring's game but lets remember that Kesselring plus Doan for Peterka gives you some idea of his perceived value. Expecting him to be an impact player is asking a lot, but he can and should improve the group. Timmins was a rotational 3rd pair guy for the Leafs and did not play in the playoffs. As for Power, I am not ready to give up on him at 22. I do expect that he will take a step forward this year. Mule - he was expected to be physical and strong on the PK. He is not either. He has to be better and do more. Otherwise move him out.
  15. We shall see how he does on the Senators.
  16. First UPL. Greenway could be just coming along slowly post surgery. He seems to always be a question mark. I agree that Tuch could have holdoutitis.
  17. I don't know Adam Mair or what is going on with him. You sometimes see this in sports. Time away from family support systems and life on the road can contribute to this kind of problem. Just because professional athletes make a lot of money or are better known to the general public than engineers, accountants, factory workers, service industry employees, etc., does not mean they do not deserve a chance to fix their problems. They are not above problems that the rest of us have. It was good fortune that the police were on the spot and did their job. The best case scenario was he got caught and no one was hurt. Next, its to try to fix the problem. Simply discarding him is more likely to lead to a repeat offense that could have a worse outcome the next time.
  18. I am pulling for this guy.
  19. True. That was the primary design, as an anti armor missile. It can be used as an air-air weapon and has been used that way by the Air Force. This whole thing looks hokey.
  20. Lots of things have been happening off of the coast of Yemen for a long time. Lots of missiles, UAVs, Drone strikes, etc. The USN has been engaging with the Houthi’s since about 2018 or so. The Royal Saudi Air Force has been involved in the fighting as well. The “orb” was split because maybe it was only partially blown up? They didn’t show enough video to indicate its eventual fate. It did not look “unfazed” either. Did it eventually fall into the sea? The video cuts out. Bigger question - what is ABC News/ Good Morning America (GMA) doing with this video and why would congress release something to the public in this manner? Seems like this would be classified and that makes it very odd that it would be released at all. Seems so odd that it could be fake, or perhaps setting the public up for something bigger? Or maybe we hit a Martian space ship when their cloaking device was turned off but thankfully their autonomous regenerative capability kicked in?
  21. Company time has nothing to do with the handling of substance abuse problems. One part of me gets angry and wants him fired for recklessly endangering children and possibly others. Another part of me knows that if he worked for a big corporation, or the government, he would have an option to call their Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and ask for help. Depending on circumstances his employment would be protected while he was put on a recovery plan of some sort. As a former Engineering Director for a large corporation that is what we did. I was introduced to this plan in about 2005 and have seen it help people, and I’ve also seen people fail and move on. It puts a strain on the organization to have to replace the employee and then possibly have to accommodate him later, but overall I thought it was a good benefit. I have no clue as to whether the Sabres provide this as an employee benefit. It’s a different business altogether.
  22. Seemed like an easy win for the Bills. The Jets fans were out of the game almost immediately. The Jets coach took no chances either. First time in the Allen era that they won a game and Allen did not run or throw for a TD. They need to stay focused and be ready for the Dolphin on Thursday. Short week to get ready but at least its a home game. GO BILLS!!!
  23. The only "La La" beside "Deck the Halls".
