  1. My luke-warm take(s): 1. We don't know how ready Levi is for NHL play. We should not be anointing him the savior after one emotion packed game. This league has a way of catching up. We need to see him over several months of work, practice, games, travel and more games. 2. We know he is a great prospect and he brings a level of skill, maturity, and preparedness that defies his age. So learning what he can do right now will help us plan for next season. 3. Playing him, even though we are in a playoff race, is fine in this case. None the other 3 goalies have done enough to claim the #1 spot. Use the practices to see who is playing the best and then start that player against Florida.
  2. The obvious answer is Levi vs Florida.
  3. He is questioning the pace of the rebuild. Not whether Adams is sticking to his plan. Which is a legitimate talking point since they are so close and so prospect rich.
  4. Welcome. This team is just starting to form. They are in the early stages of what might be a great run in future years. A very young and talented group of players.
  5. Way too many chances to breakout and then they turn it over with poor passes or weak board play. The forwards are just as guilty as the defense for this. There are forwards on just about every line that struggle in our zone. Face offs matter and they need to keep working on it. D and O zone face offs are very important.
  6. Q. Are you good? A. Yes. “oh, I like that answer!”
  7. I have never been a big fan but have to admit his game has really improved under DG. Not sure his current level of play is only “average” for a third liner that can play center and wing and get some PP time. He is a 50 point player this year and he played most of the season with Olofsson and Jost, not with Tuch and Skinner. So he is a good 3rd line player that can chip in as a top 6 if injuries occur. I’m too lazy to compare him to every teams 3rd line forwards but I would suspect he is above average in that role. I see him on the team next year but with Savioe, Kulich, and maybe some others emerging, he may be gone after that.
  8. UPL kept us in the game after a terrible first period. He is no Levi but he is still young. I want all our kids to be supported. He stopped 39 of 42. Many were difficult and from high danger areas. Tuch was the difference. He took control of the game tonight and really stepped up.
  9. Well. That drives a stake into Philly.
  10. Terrible. 3 straight turnovers. Starting with Krebs.
  11. Konecney is painful to play against.
  12. Good to see UPL dive on the puck and get a whistle. Win draw, breakout.
  13. Very good second period. Now they have to play smart. Three goal lead. Play their game, not Philly’s game. No Alamo. Their goalie stinks. Throw pucks at him. Tuch get the Hattie.
  14. Darn it. I like the 4 goal lead.
  15. I noticed it yesterday. Levi covers up the puck a lot - but with good intuition of our defensive alignment and whether we can clear the zone or not. That is what UPL needs to do. Cover the puck. Swallow the puck. Don’t put it in play when his defense is overmatched. Levi already looks like he sees this.
