  1. Even if he signed right now he should not play in a Sabres games until and IF we get eliminated. I hope he signs and has a nice career for us.
  2. Yes. Your are correct. I am basing a lot of this on the @tom webstercomments in this response to you. I could care less about the AHL playoff thing as well. My point is most prospects need the AHL. And you have been one of the most fair and patient with Mitts.
  3. Agree. Check my earlier posts, I was hard on him because I want the "banger" and I want someone on this team that will hold other teams knuckleheads accountable. I did not know he was playing injured either. The past 3 to 4 games he is looking like a better hockey player. If Granato can help his game in the same manner he has with the rest of the players on this team then he will be a useful player that adds a dimension we need.
  4. If only people learn and progress at a predictable and linear rate. They don't, there are always ups and downs, and starts and stops - and for athletes there are injuries and fatigue to manage on top of the learning. I am not so concerned about how they did in the AHL regular season versus the playoffs. I am just advocating for the time in the AHL. Adams knew from the start that neither were ready so they both played key roles in Rochester. Adams brought in JAGs, not veteran "blockers", to hold down the fort until they were ready. Quinn started slower than JJP this season, but he quickly caught up and passed him (IMO) as the season went on. As we saw yesterday, against a top team filled with veterans, and in a playoff type of game, they both were stapled to the bench in the 3rd period. Both finished -2 and both played about 10 minutes total. Next year that probably wont happen. None of the die hard fans here are calling them busts. Can the same be said for Mitts who was thrust into a 2C role after the ROR trade when he was not even close to being ready? Between rushing Mitts, and his obvious lack of physical strength at the time, many here called him a bust and called for him being traded right up until these last few months. My point is that the AHL season for Quinn and Peterka was important and beneficial.
  5. You are one of my favorite posters here, but I must say you are going a bit overboard here. I get your point, but the emphasis is not correct. Playing in the AHL has little value for some prospects, and those prospects are few and far between. Most prospects need the AHL to fine tune their game as their bodies mature. Most prospects cannot make a top 8 team in the NHL straight out of Juniors at 18/19, only the top few draft choices in a given year can jump right in. Recent examples: Owen Power could jump right in. Jack Quinn could not. Matt Savoie could not.
  6. Of course it carried over. What were you expecting from him in his first NHL year? He made the team in part because our GM left spots open for rookies to play. He gets sheltered shifts because his true readiness is borderline. You saw that yesterday This talk about playing AHL games does not help player development is nonsense. If Peterka was in the Bruins organization he probably would be in the AHL, maybe getting some bottom 6 NHL looks.
  7. You are wrong on the relevancy of the game yesterday. They are still in it but with some very low odds. The games this week are important for other reasons too.
  8. The Islanders rolling over Flyers 3 -0, after 2. We need both Isles and Pens to lose a game.
  9. None of those players are special. Ullmark might win a Vizena with Boston but he wasnโ€™t showing that for us. Carrier is a good grinder. Compher a good grinder plus. Borgen is McCabe, an ok player.
  10. The odds were stacked against Buffalo to make the playoffs that quickly. They played in the East division with all the best teams. Only Chicago from the original 6 was moved to the west. The divisions were lopsided. They Sabres got good fast and they stayed good for 10 years. Prior to the Sabres and Canucks being added to the league, all the expansion teams were put into the western division. Pittsburgh and all expansion team had an even playing field with regards to playoffs ,and none of those team was very special were until Philly rose up, which was at the same time we did, only we were 3 years younger as an organization The Sabres achievement should not be minimized.
  11. I canโ€™t even blame drinking on this one. It was mid afternoon and I hadnโ€™t even touched the stuff.
  12. Granato said the ref told him the water bottle was blocking a goal camera. Levi was not using the correct holder, or something like that.
  13. I did it again, And again.
  14. Yes. Where is that guy that says he canโ€™t. He disappears when the Sabres win.
  15. Canes post game - โ€œthe Canes got Dahlinedโ€
  16. Win the draw, break out the puck, score an ENG.
  17. The called the weakest of the three examples. Look like he sold it
  18. There is your interference everyone. Brindโ€™Amour called it.
  19. Missed another holding call. First on 72, now on 89.
  20. Well, we left a few scoring opportunities on the ice. This goalie is leaky on rebounds
  21. Wow. Turn around. Dahlin amazing play. Tage scores.
